I need to set this up pretty quick.
I just bought this Webcam.
Will my poor 3.2Mb (on a good day) connection handle a video call or do I need more?
Probably be okay yeah.
We video call the in-laws and their connection is about that.
works fine on our 512k connection
skype will adjust the quality to suit your connection
be aware thought that it may drop out if there are 'spikes' in activity on your shared connection
Should be fine, Rich. Mine works ok, and I have a crappy connection. Think Skype only needs 128Kbs or so, to work ok.
Should be fine. I wouldn't go to Houston and run a presentation off a laptop without turning Skype off though, unless you want the mrs in a dressing gown suddenly appearing on screen.....
Although your download speed is 3.2Mb your upload speed will be way less than that and is set at 256Kbs or similar (I think) - same with your contact so your download speed is actually immaterial.
Video will be OK but if you actually want a proper conversation you might be better with just a handset.
