Just signed for a house in a tiny village a few miles south of Thirsk. Coming from Leeds, I've not explored this side of the A1 much, having done most of my riding in the Dales. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good trails on the south west of the North York Moors? Around Wass, Rye Dale, Helmsley and the White Horse maybe? My map doesn't show many bridleways around there.

Cheers!

There's loads of trails in the White Horse/Silton/Kepwick areas and there's a decent downhill/singletrack run in Silton forest (albeit an unofficial one that the FC don't like..)

Guisborough Forest is about 20 miles to the North on the A19 and Hamsterley is about an hour away on the A1.

Which Village will you be in?

Cheers! Near Husthwaite, so looking for local trails that don't need driving to.
