Taking TOH to NYC to celebrate a notable birthday and was wondering if anyone out there has recommendations for hotels. Looking for something between midtown and the village - 4 star+
Something quirky or unusual... any suggestions?
Nicest place I've stayed is the Radisson on West45th and the best value for money was the Red Roof Inn, right beside the Empire State. The Village is quite a fair bit away from "the attractions" mind you...
anywhere around Canal St is good, we stayed in the Holiday Inn there and was plesantly surprised. I've also stayed in The Pod too and that was quirky but nice. Neither of these are 4*+ but were very nice places to stay.
We stayed at The Wellington Hotel which was up near Central Park and Time SQuare. No idea what starage it is but we liked it and was in our price budget. Thought it was fantastic location wise.
I stayed in the W hotel just of time square. I was quirky with great views. Fantastic rooms and not too expensive
Gershwin... google it.
We stayed in the Affinia Dumont. Nothing particularly fancy, but we chose it as we had a small kitchen in our room, so thought it would be handy if we didn't want to head out for every single meal. Gym was handy when you are at a loose end at 5am too. Comfy enough 4*, and I asked if we could get a good view for a honeymoon, so we got a bottle of bubbly and this view (which lots of rooms will have):

Stayed in the Millennium Broadway on W44th last year, pretty much bang in Times Square, walking distance to almost everything of interest. Room was really nice, not that you notice as you are out 99.9% of the time. Make sure you check out the Red Flame diner too!
