Has anyone got a telescopic ladder?

[img] [/img]

I'm thinking of getting one as I don't really have the space to store a two section ladder. Are they more unstable than a normal ladder?

I need to paint the stone mullions on a Victorian house does anyone have any recommendations for the best paint/preparation, the last lot has flacked of after less than two years.

Thanks

Graham

Cant comment on the telescopic ladders as Ive never seen any but they dont look like my idea of fun at height, maybe better hiring a set of extension ladders?

Scrape off all the flaky paint that is left, apply a coat of quality stabilising solution (or 2 if very absorbent), and once dry (probably at least 16 hours) apply a good quality masonry paint.

we've got one at work & they are ok, if a bit flexy. They aren't as long as a normal double though, you'll probably only get about 13 ft up. Probably not long enough to do 1st floor windows safely.

I've used them, they're OK, but just for stuff like accessing loft hatches and the like. As above, too short for most stuff.

As for the mullions, I have used Wickes untextured masonry paint before now, good coverage and is holding up well at about 6 years, just starting to look like it needs redoing. For prep, a long time with a wire brush(and a mask) is what's needed. Filling holes and repairing bits of moulding, a neighbour put me onto the idea of using external grade ready mix tile adhesive and it works a treat.
