Just got two letters from HMRC for consecutive years from 2005/06 to 2009/2010 each showing that I'm due a refund.
I presumed that you add the 5 figures together and that’s what your due in total..... however a colleague who pretends to be knowledgeable on all things financial said that you get the balance shown on the final letter.
Can anyone shed any light on what I can expect?
Cheers
You will need to check the letters to see if the refund for 05/06 has been carried forward each year. I would suspect that it hasn't but you'll need to check.
Assuming that it hasn't then you should get the amounts overpaid for each year plus a small amount of interest (supplement) for refunding the amount to you late.
Maybe enough for some new shiny bike parts?
It's the figure shown on the final letter only. Sorry! 😐
Still, better than a poke in the eye.
as stuartie says, the values from 05 onwards will be carried forward into 09/10. thats your final position so you should receive a cheque for that amount.
Oh well, anything is better than nothing...cheers guys.
i just got £200 back from the year 2010/2011. was quite chuffed.
