has anyone else noticed recently that when browsing other sites often the adverts contain your most recent wiggle searches? I find it a little disconcerting to say the least! Going to clear my cookies more often now i think, or just block them for wiggle at least.

Adblock is your friend.

Not on STW of course, let those ones flash away to their hearts content.

Yes, I was slightly disconcerted by that myself. I though my adblock was working on my home PC, but clearly not....

I'm not disconcerted but then again, I know how cookies and adverts on websites work ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yeah, I noticed it on Imageshack. A Wiggle ad that was clearly based around the goods I'd had delivered that morning. ๐Ÿ™

It's simple. The ad is served from the wiggle servers. They track your basket when you're ordering things in a cookie and from there it's a fairly basic step to make sure the ads show things you might be interested in. Google do it across their networks.

Not very sophisticated though is it?

Why would they want to keep showing me items I've already looked at and not bought?

Why not make it show me similar items that I haven't looked at yet?

If you run Firefox download Ghostery; quite a revelation.
