Not really, Hondas are pretty bombproof and IIRC the 1st gen CRV is an aluminium body shell so no rust gremlins to concern yourself with.
I would. Mark 1 CRVs are more common than you think. Petrol engine is bombproof. Owned a Mk 2 and a Mk 3. Great cars.
