Looking for a pad for my daughter and was directed toward these. Don't know a lot about them, and they get mixed reviews.

For the money I think I can accept that it'll not have the same abilities as one costing three times that, but does anyone have any direct experience of it or it's predecessor?
16Gb, dual core 1.6GHz processor, 2 full size USB ports and a micro SD slot, HDMI out too and runs jellybean looks like it's not bad.
she'll just want to use skype/facebook and abit of browsing wiki for school, and she's a little clumsy (like her mum) hence not wanting to spend ££££ on a 'grown up' pad. Her blackberry looked like it'd been rn over within a month of her having it!

Well, bought one, looks nice. 2 micro USB sockets, 1 mini HDMI and one microSD slot.
Sound is as you'd expect from small speakers, but headphones are great. It's fairly quick and runs android 4.1 so has all the bonuses of that. Doesn't come with much in the way of bloatware and has plenty of memory (16gb internal and 32gb micorSD should you chose). Camera is OK, on a par with many phones/laptops so all fine there, and the panorama on it actually works, unlike on my phone :-(.
It's relatively thin, not quite ipad thin but certainly on a par with other android devices.
It came with a trailer for kung fu panda, screen is sharp and smooth, much better than I expected.
Overall impressed. The seller gives 1 year warranty with it and it arrived within 2 days of order.
Now all I need to do is gift wrap it for christmas and try not to write on it...'To Dad, happy christmas....'
😉
