Wife is starting to think about a warm November holiday already – (I know, I know, I haven’t started thinking about next week end yet!), so has anybody got any places or companies that might be worth a look please.

Kind of thinking along the lines of Maldives/Seychelles/Mauritius type thing. We’ve been to the Maldives a couple of times, and really liked it but somewhere else would be good. I haven’t been to the Caribbean, although she used to live there, and November isn’t an ideal time to go (we had a trip to St Lucia cancelled in the departure lounge by Hurricane Thomas a couple of years ago).

Hot, sunny, beach and sea all necessary, and I’d like it if there was at least a few other things to do like snorkelling, or birds/wildlife to photograph. Somewhere not overrun with kids and over enthusiastic reps preffered.

Anyone had any trips that they’d recommend?

I went to Mauritius in November some years ago and it was superb.

Hint - Go all inclusive. As it's a tiny island in the middle of nowhere, the cost of simple things can really go up. Some Germans we spoke to while we were there were shocked that we had a beer or two every lunchtime, as they had seen the cost and were totally put off! AI means you can just arrive, kick off your shoes and relax.

Oh, and drink rum and Blue Marlin, and eat lots of fish. Mmmmmm, feeeesh!

Barbados is very much worth a look as well, as it's outside the main hurricane channel. Only been in October myself, but would love to go back.

Cheers. I think 'all inclusive' is pretty much a given for this sort of thing. How else will I manage to put on 3kg in 2 weeks?

Thailand, India that part of the world. Malaysia, Singapore. Guess it depends what you want, what you enjoy doing.

Thailand sounds perfect. Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi do a few days in Bangkok then travel down or go up to Chiang Mai and do a 3 day trek in the jungle

Langkawi, Malaysia. Much better value than the places you mention

Oman is fantastic at that time of year. Hasn't had the Dubai treatment and all the better for it. Have a look at the shangri la hotels there.

WhathaveI.... Stop it now! Once was forgiveable but to promote the fact that there is a Llandudno outside of Wales on two different threads does those of us in the know no favours
