Worst eng performance for a long time. Dreadful. Youngs exposed as too slow, no strength in the pack.
Corbs was ace when he came on but other than that, we have a poor 6, 9, 4 & 5.
Can't even blame the centres as the pack/9 gave them no ball, actually Ashton, Manu and foden had good games.

Stand by the view that wales are the villege idiots of world rugby though. That aus team is there for the taking. They offered nothing in attack for massive parts of the game only one nicely worked try to show for all that ball. Stupid mistake compounded by a crap lineout and topped off by an idiot in charge of the scrum were needed to stop them winning despite themselves. I suppose they got lucky out in ireland this season and the tables were turned today.
Wales blew that - whoever had i think 16 on his back to give away that penalty in the aussie half should be on kit bag duty for a long time.
Dean Ryan seemed to be suggesting at half time that England were backing out of the physical challenge.

allow us a little glee / smugness - there has not been much around recently.
The problem with England is there is nothing "special" in it. There isn't a van de wuisthaasen, an conrad smith, a Richie Macaw, or dare I say it, a Martin Johnson.
Its just an average team playing average rugby. Granted its international level, but if this is an example of the finest English Rugby we've got to worry. A team of average players not rising to the occasion won't win us a world cup.
I can't help thinking that Lancaster is copying Woodwards model - pick 30-40 players so form players can be rotated who can play together for 4 years, sure they'll lose some at first but familiarity and a plan will make them "great". I don't think the centres start in the same league as Greenwood and Tindall where then, or the forwards (front 3 not included) anywhere near the 2003 team at any point in thier reign.
Too average and a forlorn strategy IMO.
