Me and Ms OD have got a couple of weeks around new year. Looking for holiday suggestions, somewhere with a bit of life for NYE but also activity (we both bike, ski, surf).
Any and all suggestions please.

I've been to Amsterdam for NYE once, the Dutch are crazy lighting fireworks off in the street, massive banger things right at your feet. How much money have you got to spend as Sydney or New York spring immediately to mind.

Tenerife - get up to Santa Cruz for NY - one if the largest firework displays in Europe, happy people, massive carnival, 12 grapes and champagne.
If you're lucky you get to go up to the snow and down to the beach on the same day
