Sorry I know it's a rubbish photo. Taken on the beach at St Davids, anyone know what it is? Buzzard size but doesn't look like buzzards tail.
Maybe a Kite?
aye, red kite.
forked tail.
And in its claws you'll just see a baby robin.
Baby robin, innit.
Nah, it's definitely a bird
Bent wings, forky tail = Red Kite.
Loads round here, North Yorkshire.
Yep defo' a bird but pretty sure it's not a kite, the forked tail is pretty distinctive on a kite and this didn't have one as far as I could see.
Looks like a buzzard from here (Notts)
Most likely a buzzard. Red kite tends to have sharper lines to its wings with a pronounced sweep. V tail also more prominent than the photo. Can't be 100% sure from the photo, though.
Buzzards typically have a very wide range of colourations, so can be easily misidentified.
Definitely not a buzzard.. We've got a red kite feed station quite near us so get quite a few round here too but pretty sure it's not a kite.
Marsh Harrier?
Flickr's set to private so tricky to see on here
Could be a Goshawk if not a Kite or a Buzzard, although they don't tend to be as big.
Standard STW bird ID - Golden Eagle - Standard STW bird ID
Is this one of those magic eye things? Can't see a forked tail.
Reckon it's only a false widow; don't be worried, if it bites you you probably won't die
Is it a Buff Orpington? Maybe a Suffolk Punch? Or did you just sneeze on the camera lens?
Buzzard.
Griffin, Pegasuses or sky dog.
terradacktyl, deffo.
Bald eagle, I can see the sun reflecting off its head...
Looks like a hawk moth. Possibly a Lime Hawk-moth.
Buzzard.
Colours vary a fair amount on them too.
Cheers for the suggestions folks, sensible and not so 🙂
It was the weird shaped wings that threw me, I'm not an accomplished birder by any means, but I can usually spot a buzzard, kite, baby robin or a pterodactyl!
