We will be in touch
Just been reading the all the posts about ride, meeting people off here etc...
It got me thinking about, have we ever had a STW massive get together?
Involving a weekend of drinking/Mountain biking/partying etc...
Would this be a good idea?
Maybe STW them selves could help sort it out 😉
I know it is only January but we could have a Christmas do somewhere, for the weekend. I am sure where but I am sure we could sort somewhere out that will take us all.
What do you think?
No north/south divides
They used to have an awards thing with riding & beer & stuff
sounds good
Good idea, but maybe Xmas period may not be the best timing - family commitments start to pile up, poor weather, poor transport and short days.
Maybe better off with an autumnal theme sometime in september-ish, would avoid the summer holiday season and for the last few years has been our 'best' weather...
....or maybe someone might be organising a weekend of bike related jollity somewhere in the New Forest area 😉
Wasn't it called The Big Bike Bash?
You mean something allong the lines of the STweekender? Or the Big-Bike-Bash?
But yea, something 'free' would be nice, nominate a friendly campsite that doesnt mind the noise of loads of STW'ers, and just get in three days worth of riding/beer/wiskey
the glentress stw meets were brilliant back in the day
I still have very fond and fresh memories of the last Malvern classic.
It was effin mental!
Was Big Bike Bash anything like that? I was on holiday
Wales would be good. Somewhere in the middle with good riding (so I've heard).
Wasn't it called The Big Bike Bash?
That was nothing to do with Singletrack in the end, even though it was born from a forum ride from WCAs house the year before for which the mag sent loads of goodies, they didn't want to have anyhting to do with the proper event, oddly.
BTW, yes, the Big Bike Bash was great, but very far south for a lot of STWers!
[edit] Plus what PP said, but what's to say they'll want anything to do with "this" event - they do have their own weekender after all.
Single track weekender!
Perhaps we could do a camping only ticket? (it does cost to provide water, toilets etc so there would need to be a small charge)
There is lots of riding in the area, camping in the quarry so no neighbours close to disturb and if you didn't want to enter the races you could cheer on/laugh at those that do.
