We're having a new boiler installed and some other general plumbing work done. The parts are easy to price, but what's the going rate per day for a plumber in the south east? (Farborough, Hants) Any ideas? Just so I can work out if it's a good price or not...

£150 a day, £200?

I would say for a gas fitter more like £200 - £250 and possibly more.

You may find some that would do it for less but, cheapest doesn't always mean best, and usually they will be cutting corners somewhere.

The usuall place is in the comissioning, to flush and balaance the system can take longer than a day on bigger systems.

Cheers guys, I'll let you know how much he charges. I already know it's 4 days work.

We had a full central heating system installed in our last house, everything except water tanks. Took 2 weeks and was £3.5k all in for a 2 bed house - 7 rads

Well if some of the dodgy films I've seen are anything to go by, then a kneetrembler and a BJ will do nicely. HTH

I've just had some quotes to fit a boiler. £450-£800 for a days work.
