He was certainly better than Flood of Goode
Sooo transparent. Couldn't find a crap scottish FH (there have been enough!) to choose instead of the English ones?
Oh FFS settle down, what is going on with you two?
Err...Because Donald played in Bath,my mind was on England as I typed that,I did mention that either would have played for any of the home nations. But go on,what am I transparently trying to say?
Any chance to swipe at the english eh duckers? ๐
Nope, show me any other quote where I take a dig at the English, the above was certainly not intentional, despite what you see in it. I am quite careful not to as that would suggest that my countries house is in order. Would it make you feel better and restore your sense of superiority if I tell you he was also better than Dan Parks, our choice of no 10 at the time?
OK, you may not have been taking a swipe at the English, but you were certainly talking balls!
Donald? My gran was better than Donald (after she died)
Would it make you feel better and restore your sense of superiority if I tell you he was also better than Dan Parks, our choice of no 10 at the time?
I didn't realise you did stand-up as well as referee? ๐
The good thing about Parks was that he played for Cardiff for a while,so at least we didn't have to pay for him too often.
And I would suggest that Donald cgas by the time he was at bath, when he was at Waikato he was brilliant.
bloodandmud.com have put up their GOOD and SHIT teams of the tournament.
The two 10s are Dan Biggar and Kelly Haimona respectively.
10. Dan Biggar - Most other tournament teams are split between George Ford and Jonny Sexton, but both of them had a SHIT showing; Ford in Dublin, Sexton in Cardif. Dan Biggar on the other hand was pretty much outstanding in every match, even putting in a decent showing against the England onslaught in the second half on the opening weekend after having his face caved in.
10. Kelly Haimona - The "will he do?" selection policy of the Italians has excelled itself this year by finding a bloke with a kicking boot like a toblerone, passing like a civil war cannon being fired backwards and the game management of sugared up toddler.
Would it make you feel better and restore your sense of superiority if I tell you he was also better than Dan Parks, our choice of no 10 at the time?
Yeh. Ta.
Glad to hear it. ๐
Ulster v Cardiff, 6 minutes in, Nick Williams joins a maul and 'accidentally' leads with elbow, making no attempt to use his arms or maul legally. Result - Rhys Patchell is stretchered off, Cardiff lose their first choice full back for at least this game, probably more, Williams gets a yellow.
The ref (Mitrea) and TMO actually debated whether it deserved a yellow or just a penalty. The commentators - albeit Welsh - all agree it was an obvious red.
This sport is ludicrous at times.
It may be relevant the the TMO is Irish.
Hasn't Williams got a little form? Shingler, wasn't it?
I just tuned in as Williams returned so haven't seen it yet. I'm watching on Bbc NI so will be interesting to hear what they say at half time
It may be relevant the the TMO is Irish.
Very much more than likely it isn't.
Dale Macintosh, was it yellow or red? "Well it was a forearm smash to the head, of course it was red. I've done it enough myself, I should know." ๐

The TMO has just been consulted again - Ulster whinged that their player had been pulled back when chasing a ball into the Cardiff in-goal area. It turned out that the Ulster player claiming obstruction actually shouldered Cuthbert away first. Result, penalty to Cardiff? No, the TMO said 22 dropout. Cardiff won't win this game. (Btw, I'm not a Cardiff supporter, but the bias so far in this match is pathetic.)
More importantly,
Chris Henry on the bench for a comeback after heart surgery and a mini stroke.
Good luck fella.
North laid out again in a match, hope he is ok though, but still out on the floor. Bit of a wierd decision, but wasps player has been red carded
They were both shoulder to shoulder chasing a ball, that's not a penalty. Cuthbert did pull on the shorts but there was little in it. 22 was correct I think. However Cardiff should have had a penalty try for Allen's Ronaldo style gesticulation ๐
the bias so far in [s]this match[/s] my posts is pathetic.
North knocked unconscious in the act of scoring, Wasps No8 red carded for attempting to kick the ball from North's hands & clattering his head with his shin.
North still down, not looking good.
It didn't look like he was trying to kick the ball, more like he couldn't get out of they way and didn't have time to jump him.
He locked out his leg trying to slow down and couldn't in time

Maybe. But in the last minute of the first half, Ulster pulled down a rolling maul just short of the line, having been warned and having a player in the bin. Result - penalty try or 3rd yellow? Nah, just a penalty. (Which Cardiff butcher. ๐ ) Mitrea is a very weak referee. Ulster should win this game anyway - they need no help from dodgy reffing.
Yellow card for me, careless & deserves a sit down but red? Not so sure.
Agreed, yellow looked right, it didn't look intentional. More that he had just gone too far in his run to be able to avoid
I was expecting a UFC style move from Williams. Clumsy but never red
No way! Sparky is a legend!
What is Sparky? I'm guessing it's a reindeer whose antlers have rotted away. ๐ . ๐
Btw deadlydarcy, do you want to comment on the match or were you just following up on any perceived anti-Irishness?
DO THE WORM BRIZ!!!!
I'm guessing it's a reindeer whose antlers have rotted away.
To steal wit from someone else.....
"Bungle's really let himself go".
๐
Wasps let down by a poor moment of refereeing, I believe wasps could have given saints a run for the money tonight
It's funny that, pull a maul down one week and it's a penalty try. Do it another and it's just a penalty. Y'know, I've even seen it going either way in the same game. Strange old world... ๐
Just watched Leinster v Glasgow. 34-34.
Top game - daft yellow card for Matawalu probably cost Glasgow a win. However Toony will be happy with 3pts I suspect. Mark Bennett outstanding for Glasgow and Issac Boss for Leinster.
Nigel Owens had a decent game too.
If that's George North's third concussion of the season then that by the letter of the law should be season over....
Which law is that?
I think that is a red,he just swings a boot out of petulance. Is he trying to get under the ball or is he just wanting to get a cheap one in? And that Ulster stuffed bear is giving the finger to the fans behind him.
Its reckless and I'm glad to see him get a red. Too much goes by without being punished. Still cannot believe Lawes wasnt cited, guess they didnt want to make Owens look like a numpty.
Surely not a red card. Saints players would be knocking seven shades out of him I they thought it was deliberate. Even in slow motion it looks no too bad.
Cycnical, deserved a red. What was he trying to achieve if not a nasty knee/shin to the head?

So the referee should use this as his guide?
I have to say, I can't see any attempt to kick the ball or North there. Its a horrible incident I really hope North is ok, but for me Hughes is just in his stride pattern, trying to stop. The only person who knows is Hughes.
