This sort of disjointed chuck around is no prep for the World Cup and only favours the French really. All quite entertaining but not sad I gave my seats up.

The Lawes tackle was right on the borderline. On balance, I think it was over-exuberance rather than malice, and at least he bothered to use his arms unlike most of the south sea islanders. On the flip side, I don't think there could have much complaint if it was a penalty. If it had been given as a penalty, Lawes could have been in the shit as if a tackle like that is deemed foul, it is a sin bin at the least. Very close.

For the record, the frog forwards also did well not to chin him and thus get themselves into bother. It's a massively physical game, aggression plays a big part, switching off that aggression at a stroke is not easy.

Come on England. Let's just stop missing first-up tackles, please.....

It's not Lawes' fault that garcon spun upside down - he needs to start eating properly and lower his centre of gravity.

Nige is going up in my estimation here as well. I've always thought he was in the top 25% or so anyway, but he's reffing this excellently up to now.

Piggy, I have great respect for Mr Owens, he makes me howl with laughter with his comments & he's (in my opinion) one of the best refs in the world. Plus, his life sounds really interesting.

I think these 30 will be out on their feet after 65 minutes, it's like sevens

I reckon England will get to 50 but not sure if France will reach 30?

Clear turnover to England there....mistake by dear Nige.

I'm pretty sure that Danny Cipriani's England carrer first time around ended with about the same number of charged down kicks that Ford has had!

...and what the hell is the French kicker asiming at?! There's two big white posts there to help him ๐Ÿ˜€
