Big waves are terrifying. I've scared myself stupid on a number of occasions when I've bitten off more than I could chew even in overhead waves. I've got the utmost respect for anyone who rides the really big stuff. These days, a mellow 3-4ft is more my speed!

Yeah, that was me. He called my car a poof.

I have also:

Done Cwmcarn in less than an hour - recently (with all the rough bits and extra bits)
Won a bike race (although it was in a mixed team at the first Nightrider 12, and there were only two other teams neither of whom were any good at all)
Lived abroad
Learned to XC ski
Gone for a walk in -23C
Walked on the sea
Driven across America several times
Got married on a Saturday, then gone to the consulate on Monday to get a Visa to bring my wife home on the Wednesday 🙂
Seen my daughter born (and helped a bit)
Earned the love and respect of my wife and daughter.. this is the biggie I reckon.

I find they vary a fair bit - I've surfed 6-8ft waves that are okay (for non surfers this is double to double and a half overhead - wave sizes are odd) then surfed 4-5ft heavy dumpers that have scared the sh1t out of me.

Have been very close to drowning twice (blacked out, etc) so a bit more careful. Loads of injuries too but all fine in the end.

We need more waves NOW!

Ran the KIMM/OMM with Ranulph Fiennes

That probably means I know you - the rest of your list gives me a good idea, as confirmed by your link. I was going to post something far more circuitous regarding Ran!

I have
- galloped along a beach in Ireland.
- rollerbladed through the middle of Marrakesh.
- cycled, kayaked and run (over most of the biggest hills) the length of the Outer Hebrides. Twice.
- fathered two sons (that I know of 😉 )
- wished for better mud clearance whilst riding in Utah.
- windsurfed to Caldey Island.
- ridden a horse in the mountains in the middle of the night.
- run down a glacier wearing shorts and trainers.
- won a sword.
- raced as part of a team with an Olympic cycling medallist.
- skied from my own front door.
- hitch-hiked home from work.

wish it had been made a requirement to put your age with your list of things you've done, that would've added a nice touch to the thread IMO

i've been out in, and paddled for large waves (18' at the beach by killers) but I chickened out and pulled out before dropping in. The view from the top is frikkin scarey. Head high and chilled is much more my thing.

Still need to get barrelled, mind.

Spun a car off the road into a hedge backwards.

MR2 by any chance?

I have:
- Performed at the Albert Hall Proms,
- Been arrested,
- Taken my old car to an indicated 155 mph before I bottled it, on a road that wasn't really suitable but in conditions that were. In theory it would have gone on to 176 mph. Not linked to previous admission,
- Won the National Brass Band Championships at Wembley,
- Been on the big screen, in "Threads",
- Flown a plane,
- Designed and developed the now "Gold Standard" method for detecting minute amounts of opiates in bodily fluids,
- Steered a ferry into Haifa, Israel,
- Cheated on someone I really shouldn't have (NOT my wife!),
- Tripped balls on peyote buttons 😯
- Turned down a photo op with Princess Diana cos my dinner would have gone cold (I was 5 though, so maybe not full-on treason),
- Settled down and grown sensible.
