Has someone or a group pee'd in someone's shoes or have the water board/United Utilities had enough??

Just got back from riding and included one of the tracks which as I understand it is tollerable and made with certain allowed permission to finish a great ride and there are lots of small (4"-6") tree's felled every 10-15m or so. The begining is clear but 50m in is where it all starts.

This isn't one of the DH runs or signed tracks just some runs down through the trees

Anyone heard whats going on??

The only felling I have seen recently is around the start of the Shuttlingsloe footpath.

There has been some trees affected by the strong winds recently and they have/are being made safe.

I was last up on Sunday so what you have seen could be more recent. where abouts is it mainly?

Tree thining is a part of forest husbandry, its a tree farm for the cultivation of trees for timber and biomass product.

Yeah I understand the thinning process etc and have seen the Shuttlingsloe stuff but this seems VERY precise as all the trees/saplings are felled directly over or actually along the trail as you ride it. I didn't see any fellings to the sides or any randoms

monogramman - Its not describable (sp) as mainly as its very specific. Sorry but I don't want to advertise it

Haven't ridden the forest regularly in the last couple of years but was there a month back. Seemed to be few more trails have sprouted away from down hill club's area on that side of the forest. I thought the club were the only 'sanctioned' trail builders and anything else was cheek. One looked like it shot across the bridleway - I'd guess this would be shut down sharpish.

That said there is also a fairly major felling programme on the go at the moment - a lot of timber has been extracted in the last three years.

OAP totally wrong area of the forest, no major felling going in this bit just as I've said very specific "obstructive felling"
