Hi folks, bit of a long shot but if anyone sees the following for sale, please let me know. A friend had his car broken into last night on Rivercourt Road, in Ravenscourt. Everything was taken including:
- remote control airplane/drone
- Specialized road bike (black and green; waiting for him to confirm model although I think it’s a Tarmac) with power tap rear hub, speed play pedals Garmin and di2. I think it’s an XL frame so unlikely to fit many people.
Also, cycling kit, wind proof and buff was taken which is a custom design so very distinctive: grey/black and red and says ‘Bertie Maffoons Cycling Co.’ on it with a doodle design.
At 6’ 3” he’s a big lad so this stuff is unlikely to fit most people.
Thanks
Very sad for the unfortunate owner, but it does highlight the often given advice; do not leave valuables in an unattended car, locked or otherwise.
I couldn’t begin to count the number of times I’ve read small reports in the local paper about the theft of laptops, satnav, bags and cases from cars locked and left unattended for long periods.
I do sincerely hope he gets his stuff back, though.
Cue victim-blaming comment in 3, 2, ...

You say long periods and I appreciate you’re generalising, but in this case he was there for a gig nearby, so gone for maybe three hours. I parked up that road a few months ago, left it there all day and most the evening, laptop in the back and camera in the boot and didn’t even get a window wipe. You takes your chances.
