In North America, we grew up with a children's show called 'Sesame Street'. It's still going (I think), and I think it still hosts a musician from time to time (Feist's special version of 1-2-3-4 is a case in point).
When I was a kid, though, it was Stevie Wonder, and Ray Charles, and other awesome musicians from the Jazz, Motown, and Rock worlds.
In the video below, it's Stevie Wonder at his funky best. But above all, watch for the kid on the balcony with the awesome moves. It's brilliant! 8)
Never has 8) been so appropriate.
I loved Sesame Street and I still love Stevie!

A journalist asked Stevie Wonder what it was really like being blind. He replied: "It could have been worse Man, I could have been black!"
How they mixed the original
I heard somewhere that Wonder suffered head injuries in a car accident and was never the same again.
