Hi anyone seen the above at a reasonable price ? I've got sealed cartridge bearings in mine but I guess the tool would also work with earlier models too, which would be useful. Cheers guys
Not tried or compared and could get pricey if you have several different types

The problem on Specialized bikes is the Horst link bearings. It's two bearings, one pressed in from each side; so getting them out without the proper expanding tool can be a bit of a nightmare. That RRP kit looks rather good as an alternative to sockets/washers on a threaded bolt, which is what I've always used.
The Specialized kit, which contains the tools for every bearing (and set-up) that Specialized use, is around £200.
Threefish is right the double blind housing on the horst link pivot requires a split collette extractor tool. I have a prototype bearing puller that does most frames and a lot of other stuff as well.
I could show you how to remove the bearings and install them with some simple tools and a vice, if you're interested my emails in my profile, I also have some very good bearing kit.
Unless the frame is an epic then you only have one bearings each side sitting in a housing. 😀
Just knock them out with a punch or flat bladed screwdriver for the horst link, and a socket for the others. Done loads this way with no problems at all.
Press the new ones in with a socket and a vice.
Takes me about an hour to do the lot if I'm taking my time.
(Done twice on an Epic, once on a stumpy and once on an Enduro)
The horst ones on my epic, punched them out and they disintegrated leaving the outer bearing race firmly stuck in the hole. Oh how I laughed 🙁

Not a problem - you then have more "angle" to work with using the screwdriver. Worst case is you grind the outer race with your dremmel (or in my case cheap equivalent from Wilkinsons)
Try here for something suitable - you can either buy a kit to cover a range of bearing internal diameters, or just a single extractor.
You could try using the old bearings and a vice to press the new ones in, it makes it very hard to damage them, as the old bearings are the exact same size as the new ones.
A socket is OK if you have experience and a lot of different socket sizes, but the old bearings in my opinion are a better tool for the job, if one bearing isn't enough simply use two.
Once the bearings are in the housing, look at the back of the housing and visually check that they're seated properly, then rotate the bearings manually with your finger to check that they work 100%.
😯
Then simply turn around, touch the ground and pick up! dot cotton 😯

The Specialized kit is an absolute pleasure to use. I've done the job with punches, sockets and a vice and it took about an hour of faff and swearing. Or with the kit, 15 minutes of 'wow that fits just right' and 'cor this is easy'
Hey mate, it's my day off! I just spoke to the guy and answered his questions.
The specialized kit is fine unless you have collapsed bearings and races left in the housings, then it's a bit out of it's depth.
