Pros-cons and general thoughts invited. Just bought two sets of SPD pedals and was wondering if the multi release cleats are worth a punt.

if you use multi-release you will end up on your arse, or worse, your head
the russian roulette of cleats

multi release = pull up on your pedals with lots of effort and find you are suddenly pulling up on thin air.

I can't see any advantages having bought a piar once by mistake... never again...

Multis are good for those just starting out with cleats or who have no confidence in their ability to release when required, but can release when you really don't want them to.

... like mid 'thrutch' round a fast rooty corner, sort of leaning sideways off the back of the bike with one foot waving about in thin air, not pleasant 😯
