The Mrs just got one of these. It's a really lovely thing except the software install on it is pretty flaky 🙁 I have had a pretty hard time trying to get it to connect to the net via the internal 3G card. The sim gets registered on the network but it won't connect...

I don't suppose anyone's had this problem with a Vaio have they?

Had the same problem with a machine I set-up for a friend! What type of card is it and is the reception for that network good enough in your area?

It's the internal card, so not sure. The connecting software is Globetrotter connect tho so that could be the make of the card too. I just get 0x84000011 can't connect. I do have signal and the SIM works in a dongle.

Don't you have to provide a number / username / password combo?

Number's something like *#99*, username eg "orange" password "wap".

No username or password, APN is 'internet'. Still no dice.

Are you absolutely certain that the APN is correct, and have you told the phone company that you're using the SIM in something else in case it needs an over the air SIM update?

Haven't called Orange yet. The guy in the shop said it'd be alright but who knows. I have read that page tho and I did the registry hack too but to no avail.
