Need to identify an airport to fly from the south of england to - only requirements is that it's likely to be warmer than the UK and has mountains near to the airport or easily accesible by public transport.
I was thinking chambery but turns out they close the airport in summer!
(note - not for riding - for bivying).

Cheap flight to Malaga then into the Sierra Nevada? ... Or easyjet do Bristol to Innsbruck, that's pretty hill
