There are various online tools for managing submission of information - such as for instance - Survey Monkey.
Is there anything I could use for people to submit text and image files for sorting and selection and then be able to manage that material and feed back?
Say you wanted to compile something like a book or magazine or exhibition from submitted content - 100 people's work could feature and you might get a 1000 (or 1000s of) submissions so those submitting need a means to upload one or two text documents and a dozen images and fill out a form to identify themselves and the uploaded material and I'd need to be able to manage those submissions and select and reject from them and then correspond back.
Does something like that exist?

Dropbox wound't manage the content, you'd just have 1000s of files in there and have to sort them manually.

You mean like an online Journal? There are lots of these in the academic doman
