I don't get it, why? Facebook, Twitter, it's all bollox. I can understand 14 year old girls being on it all the time, but grown men?!?

WTF?!!

What is happening to our society.....

Another step in the feminisation of men.

That sounds like a deep seated and very personal insecurity

Why is being on Facebook and twitter feminising men?

Do you think Bradley Wiggins and Lance Armstrong are feminine particularly?

I use them both to catch up with mates, it's just communication, is all.

I take it the irony of posting this complaint to a bunch of anonymous strangers isn't lost on the OP 🙂

The OP does realise this forum is a prime example of social media?? Content produced by and shared with the community

You said it yourself - you just don't get it, so perhaps it's not for you.

AFM, I couldn't be ar5ed with FB until a year or so ago - now I keep in touch with people I've haven't seen/met in ages. Twitter is brilliant for keeping tabs on what's happening in any field of interest - I use it mainly for work-related stuff, plus I get to contribute and share thoughts and articles, etc. Loads of other networks/apps out there - some good, some not so good.

One thing I can't fathom is how some people seem to be constantly tweeting or blogging, and yet still get a load of work done. How do they find the time?

Also, Twitter has it's share of people that post mundane b0ll0x - but all you have to do is unfollow them - simples.

Personally I'm a staunch advocate for antisocial networking, all you need to do is find a cupboard, wardrobe or server cabinet and tie yourself up inside it with cat5 cable.

facebook is brilliant.

think of it as a bit like flickr - but with better messaging functions, and a very usefull 'event' organiser.
