My neighbours on both sides have plumes of smoke coming out from their condensing boilers .
Air temp around 15'c so not neccessary really, but the wind is cooling so I have shut the windows.

Wood burner on where we are staying on Dartmoor, judging by the plumes of smoke from surrounding houses we’re not the only ones.

It's only just scraped above 8 degrees here in the Midlands! Our heating has indeed been on. In June. Madness.

I’m getting terrible flash backs of the ‘summer that never was’ 2012 I think? It started raining in May and we didn’t have a dry day till Sept.

Was that the ****ing rhiana umbrella song year? I said to someone today it reminded me of that year. Also it's download festival this weekend so that will be lovely!

Back to the op, only been 10 degrees here, had to have a blast to dry a few clothes as we can't really use the tumble dryer when it's full on sideways lagging it down due to it requiring the shed door to be open.

Bit weird, but yeah my heating is on.

Weird in that for the last week or so I’ve not noticed it on, but it’s certainly been on over this last weekend and is still clicking in/out as I type.

TBH, I don’t care that the heating has come on (I detest the cold) it’s the rain that pisses me awf.

Sarf Coast, the bit where you can see Cowes from the beach.

2007 that was, I’m not sure which was worse, 2012 was the wettest on record, 2007 was the previous and 1914 before that.

It was the year I learned about long term weather forecasts - I’d be looking at weather.com thinking “finally a bit of sun in 6-7 days” but it turns out after 5 days or so the data is so bad they’re 90% ‘seasonal averages’.

We had a lovely Easter and lovely early autumn, but every day from May to Sept it rained.

Just looked, 2007 was also the year the m5 flooded and the substation near Gloucester nearly packed up. Remember it well as a mate had a stag do in Wales the same weekend and we went bloody canyoning!
Jet stream then, jet stream now...

Heating? It’s June! We’ve got the windows open here in Pembrokeshire. I’ve got a jumper on but that’s it.
It’s rained all day but it’s not cold...heating timer will tick ‘on’ in November, no sooner!

Our CH is set to 15C year round and it's kicking in most mornings and afternoons. Outside it's somewhere between 8 & 11C.

Thermostat is set to 19.5 and heating goes on an off all through the day and only went through a couple of days when it wasn't on during the hot patch a few weeks ago.
The dogs and cats don't like a cold house.

My heating came on last night. I use one of those "thermostat" things, they used to be all the rage before it became a good idea to pay hundreds for that "smart" jiggery-pokery.

Ours stays on all year round, but we have individual thermostats on the radiators. Usually they go off end of March-ish till end October-ish. This year they keep coming on. Good job we had a mild winter to even out the fuel bills.

I am glad it's not just me - we put ours on on Saturday night after I had been outside all day dressed as a Bride of Dracula then swam across a swollen river (I took part in Knaresborough Bed Race) and was stuck in wet clothes for the next hour or so. When I finally got home I couldn't get warm despite extra layers so put it on and left it on.
