... a new road helmet, and a very cool new jersey from Stolen Goat. Mrs SR outdid herself this year!

😀

Any other bike-related gifts here? Regardless, happy Christmas everyone!

A nice bottle of whisky, some cash and the pleasure of seeing my daughter's face when she got her first proper bike from Santa. I expect she'll be dropping me on the hills by easter.

I got a new MTB helmet from MrsMC.

In September.

**** all today apart from some chocolate.

Feeling strangely deflated today. Watching my 12 year old unwrap a new Inbred frame.

There is the tiniest glimmer of hope my folks will have something for me later. But I'm expecting more chocolate. And slippers.

I got a really nice Barbour leather briefcase, and yesterday I cracked open a bottle of Talisker and a bottle of Grey Goose. Inlaws just left after staying over, and now getting ready for my side to arrive about 3ish.

I bloody love Christmas.

Stolen Goat? Flash git 🙂

I got some fantastic casual looking Endura baggies, and an altura windproof top convertible into sleeveless, but that's too small.

My favorite gift.

Painted by my grandad. Unexpected. Mrs t-r commented on how good his paintings were last week when we were round visiting.

We certainly didnt expect to recieve one as a gift !

Will get pride of place in our house. - do we need to do anything special with it to keep it in good nick ? Think its oil on canvAs but happy to be corrected.

I had my Dune Fat Bike a month early so wasn't expecting anything. Ended up with my favourite minion (well a reproduction of), a doorstop in the shape of a puppy (as my wife really doesn't want another dog) and this

Awesome Christmas Present± by Alex Leigh, on Flickr

which is fab. A bloke makes them to whatever ideas you have. So that's a green bike and purple shorts/orange top to match my riding attire. The biggest difference is the lego fella has some hair.

Awesome present tho. Now above my desk in my home office. Makes me smile every time I look at it.

The Ladybird Book of the Shed. 🙂

And not bike related but two lino cuts from my youngest daughter who has just started A level art that are so good I got a bit emotional. Might have been influenced by the quantity of pre and during dinner drinks...

Bike stuff - a Park Tools torque driver, Simon's Cat jersey, pirate water bottle, Kinpex wrench, history of British hill climbing, Bike Porn book.

Other stuff - t-shirts, mini-lego style Patrick Star, notebooks, coffee cups, chocolate, beer.

All in all I'm very happy, nothing I'd not want.

My 7 day ban expired on stw.

I was going to post January photo of the maxxis calendar but think I'd be banned again.

I seem to have got several nerf guns, a walk on the beach and a small boy who won't leave my side! I taught my lad how to play chess today and ate Xmas pudding!

Since we just had new granite kitchen countertops put in this past week, that was the mutually agreed Christmas (and birthday and anniversary) present with Mrs busydog.
Stepson and wife coming by for dinner in a couple of hours and rumor has it they are bringing me a very expensive bottle of Japanese whiskey, so all is not lost.

Various bits and bobs here, but main presents were tickets to 2 comedy shows (paddy McGuiness & Sarah millican) plus a pair of tickets to see the stone roses in the summer!

Also a 6 month coffee subscription, not sure that it'll fully feed my addiction, but will help.

My wife and son have been incredibly generous this year:

Bottle of balvenie Carribean cask, bottle of Jura superstition, load of craft beers, Rapha h van model, Rapha mechanics apron, tweed jacket, tweed bedroom athletic slippers, plus lots more lovely things.

We don't normally buy each other much so I was a bit overwhelmed.

A selection of warm clothes including a couple of lovely fleeces and a new dressing gown to laze about in, running socks, a big box of High5 gels and a slow cooker.

Tips from customers were put to use getting euros for our week in Spain starting later today, and I also used some to order a couple of Cards Against Humanity expansions and a bigger box to hold it all.

ordered my first ever complete bike at the lbs, but it hasn't landed yet. Been tooling around on their demo bike for a couple of weeks and it was going to be too hard to hand it back.

That's the shop's; ordered mine in 105 flavour as it's going to be a bad weather workhorse.

tweed bedroom athletic slippers

One presumes, with a grippy sole. Or cleats. Or a little pocket for holding a pump of lube....

Interesting idea 😉
