"One life live it "seems to have moved on mostly to the t5 crowd. .... Frankly they can keep it. Suits nasty modified vans better anyway. - usually slammed on castor wheel car alloys with some vinyl wrap hiding their rusty bonnet

One wife livid is more like it for my landy 🙂

Given the sunroof issues, it could probably be 'one life...liquid?'

My boss's brand new (at the time) 12 plate 110 crew was leakier than my '89 90 td. Within 2 years it had rust in the chassis especially the rear crossmember. The panel fit and finish was terrible and the interior was possibly flimsier than mine (although mine was ex raf).
Defenders are not cars, they are slightly faster tractors with more than one seat.

I feel very sorry for those who lost a heap of cash but it seems to me that like in the T5 world where unscrupulous scammers rip people off with badly fitted mdf interiors sold for Cali money that people need a bit of due diligence. Handing over vast quantities of cash basically on a promise is madness. Unfortunately whilst people are prepared to do it the scanners will be able to continue.

I hope there is some sort of happy ending somewhere but my sympathy is reduced somewhat by the attitude displayed by MOT. I'm no Defender expert but I made sure I knew what I was buying when I did and like previous VW and LR based purchases, yes a hammer was used to aid the purchase decision.

Seems strange to convey the message on a cycling forum when I've yet to see Ryan stotts nane come up on a land rover forum as yet ? Maybe I'm on the wrong 2 mind.

Maybe those forums are in onnit and deleting the posts of hate against him.

I think I'll go test the waters 😉

Mattbee

Oh well then multi millionaire David Beckham must be flying round in a tractor with extra seats. Not forgetting the Queen.

Does this mean the 'one life so live it' sticker factory is in trouble?..

Saw a "One Life - Too Short to Spend it Fixing Landrovers" sticker on a Landcruiser a few weeks back 😆

Are the new ones (tdci) that bad I was thinking of replacing my td5 110 with Somthing newer. But maybe a step backward would be better.
Actually what I want is tdi powered series but prices are getting silly.
Sorry slightly off topic

Should change the stickers to "Husband and Wife livid".That certainly put a smile on my face. But in all seriousness I posted on here because I spend most of my time on here as I like the diversity and the collective knowledge that most contributors on the site have and enjoy people's points of view though I don't always agree (its the Singletrack forum after all) + I ride bikes a lot.Never really crossed my mind to post on the landy forums. Umm might just do that. Resigned to the fact that my money has been stolen, Just want to stop anyone else getting stung by Ryan Stott.

Worth it I think. Just spoke to a few folk from the land rover world. No onE I know knows of him. The land rover world do take a dim view of their own ripping others off it seems.

I agree with trail_rat, Wool. Although, maybe have him post for you/link to this thread? As some forums can be a bit off when a first post is a scam post.

Just skim read this really, but at any point have you got the police involved?

Apologies if you have.

Been dipping into this thread, sounds like the few that have had direct dealings with Ryan Scott should pen an 'open letter' between them, stating a few facts about their vehicles, signed by them and posted on a couple of 4x4 forums. Gather any extra victims and the word will spread fast.

Stott is going to have someone killed one of these days.

Read this horror Story from Jason Lloyd.

(and trail-rat) I don't want your so called adult opinion on this one)

You all need to co-ordinate and go to the police aswell as launching a civil case

(and with the Police, don't take no for an answer, it's a criminal matter, it's fraud, I was in court a couple of weeks ago watching a similar case for a lot less money - 6 witnesses all being ripped off by one guy and 6 counts of obtaining money)

Take the buggers house off him

Previously on Stott's facebook friends list there was a few names I recognised from the LR 'scene' (including an ex magazine editor) who are no longer listed as friends. Distancing themselves? There are a couple of others from well reputed businesses still friends with him, and a few of my friends are friends with his friends etc, the LR world isn't that big.

Thanks guys
I was so angry after I read Jason Lloyds post. This is serious, he and his wife could have been in a serious accident or killed. I am fed up to the teeth with the so called authorities allowing this runt of a rat to continue, so I wrote again to Trading Standards who made a visit to Stott about my case. Of course he lied through his teeth and again they walked away. I have stated that this has to be stopped before some one is killed. I will update if I get a response. Tiger 6791 What you suggest will be done. Stott has also lied to the courts in my case to have his CCJ set aside, this was done so that he could delay and go into insolvency. Not quite as simple as that though. Lying to the courts carries a prison sentence, a fine, or both. I am in court shortly and will have my time with the judge. I will keep you posted.Thank you and keep putting out the word.

Thread back from the dead!! And Ryan Stott is still at it apparently. Don't buy a Land Rover from him Check the V5 if anything is missing walk away, verify everything HPI MOT checker the lot and take a mate or pay for a RAC inspection before you part with the cash and if cant pay with a card walk away. Main dealer everytime for me.

Wool

Did you get notice of the liquidation meeting as per post above?

You should have had it.

Make sure you send HJS your claim and comments on what's occurred if you haven't already.

He started a new company LAND ROVER RESTORATIONS LTD (10027206) on Feb so I doubt you'll have any luck getting anything from him. Note the liquidator is in Southampton so any creditor meeting is likely to be that way to discourage people travelling.
He probably hasn't got these guys as creditors so they won't get any notification.
Any assets in the old co will be sold at a discount to new co and he'll carry on as usual.

Ahh been to the meeting,.... that was fun. My understanding is that liquidator can't get hold of him now which is about right for Ryan Stott and his Land Rovers

Have you contacted the BBC and watchdog?

Stott must be prime material with all of these twists....

I do hope you get a result after all this.

Somewhere One Day this guy will cross the Wrong person and end up where he deserves Which is 6ft under .

In the mean time people have to be "Buyer Beware ".

LandRovers are so easy to cover up all manner of sins as basically a giant Mechano kit as those that have owned them know.

I've had several over the years, from Series to Discovery
