LBS = Support your LBS even if it costs a little extra
WEB = If you prefer cheap web prices
Just interested...
Both?
LBS if pressed.
Both. LBS if close on price.
WEB Preferably as always get what I want. Not what some LBS bloke wants to get rid of.
LBS last resort and rarely used, only to to buy the initial bike.
WEB
WEB
Both
Web, I like working on my bike, on fact I rarely use "trades" so not just a bike thing
WEB
Convenience or death.
Crc's shop at their warehouse - best of both worlds. Lbs is very roadie orientated
Web - mostly for the fact that I can get anything, in any size and variety. I'm not sure the plethora of standards within the bike industry is helping the lbs - harder than ever to keep a comprehensive stock of parts and kit.
LBS
LBS
70%-30% LBS-Web..
I like my LBS, its nice to see someone more miserable looking than me..
both- too impatient to use the web all the time
Web.
I do my own spannering and I am on a very tight budget. That and the fact I like choice, don't trust anyone tinkering with a bike I am going to be flying down a steep hill on and my LBS's are useless.
Both.
LBS. On way home from work and so very convenient.
WEB for bits and pieces
LBS for bikes and expensive stuff
70% web, 30% LBS
Bike shop is on way home and if the price is competitive and I ain't got to wait then I will pay the extra.
WEB
LBS for bleeding brakes, replacing bottom brackets etc
Web for bits.
WEB
WEB - cheaper, turns up at work so I don't have to spend time going to get the bits and I can do almost all work myself so don't need workshop services.

LBS for bleeding brakes, replacing bottom brackets etc
both of those are extremely easy - try it yourself next time, there's plenty of online info to help you if needed.
LBS
Working out cheaper
LBS if the price is decent, if I can save over a tenner then it's the net. I use Evans cycles for wheel builds and headset cups.
LBS - great chap and if I can afford that extra £20 which I'd probbaly only spend on wine, why not support LBS?
He is as good 'un though, and I know there is a lot of cr**.
Funnily enough, bought some 3/4 Enduras the other day from him, and he knocked me off 10% at till, which when I got home and checked, made them cheaper than CRC or anywhere else!
Bought a new pump from the lbs this week, had looked at it online, but thought I'd go visit the shop and get it there instead. Gave me a nice wander at lunch and no waiting for delivery.
I have used both heavily in the past though.
LBS
Both.
my LBS is an evans, so order online pick up instore or just crc
Web
Down to choice, not price.
Web. Much more convenient that trying to get to an LBS to see an inferior selection at a higher price. Might take a different view if I didn't enjoy doing all my own maintenance.
Web, though most of the shops I use are someone else's lbs..
LBS, pretty much always if need something quick and random, if not order off my accounts, although my hording ways mean I seem to have built up stocks of all the hard to find stuff, ODI TLD grips, black, found half a dozen setting still boxed today 😐 Mr Trebus 😳
About 70/30 split in favour of web. So much choice out there which one shop can't hope to stock. I also enjoy the randomness of accidental purchases - i like a little gamble and buy things i usually wouldn't if the price is low enough 🙂
Web, my LBS are brilliant but range of stock is shockingly bad.
Web.
I don't have a very local bike shop so it's easier for me to order parts and things from the web. I do try to use shops I know for these though if I can.
Web usually as it's more convenient and I can pretty much always get what I want when I want at the lowest price
LBS if I need it now
I don't really need the service that LBSs provide as I do all my own mechanics and have a good idea of what fits.
WEB for the price, convenience, and the stock.
LBS for browsing the sales bin, fondling of shiny bits I can't afford, shooting the breeze, and the jobs I don't have time for/can't be arsed with.
Bit of both. Small things and complicated (to me) spannering - LBS. Clothes, tools, things that are so cheap I HAVE to buy - WEB.
Web everytime.
I've got better things to do with my free time than drive into town to get something I could have delivered to my door.
I might buy the odd thing if I'm up in the lakes or somewhere and see a bargain, but I don't bother with the local shop.
lbs.
will buy sale items from web tho'.
Used to use LBS but they're very expensive so now use online. An example of the was I recently bought an Ultegra chain so searched online for prices. I got it from CRC for £20. My LBS was in the search priced at £34.99 so no brainer really.
Web mostly, but mainly due to the old "we can order it in for you".
My LBS' need to target more impulse buys, clothing, gloves, tyres etc away from the standard Altura/Endura/Royal. They do get sales out of me, and my bikes go in for anything I don't have the time to do.
I'm pretty much all web. Down to choice and speed.
I don't really have an LBS, so getting to one is a pain especially with work etc.
