Next doors chimney stinks like burning rubber, it has done every day this week and did last winter too. I wouldnt mind but it makes your eyes water when you come out of the house. Whats causing it and what can I do ?

Maybe they're really going for it at their S&M orgies?

Ask them?

Are you in a smokeless area?

This isn't as ridiculous as it sounds. I've seen a mate of mine do this in his (rented) front room. We also used to have a game of who can get the XL250 the furthest up the stairs. You could get a good run up across the front garden, then straight up the stairs

Couple of years ago during some stormy weather our fence blew down.
The neighbour on that side asked if she(70 year old widow)could have the old wood for her wood burner.

From that moment on we regretted my kind nature as we were assailed all winter from the most noxious niffs from her chimney as it combusted all the years of fence treatment soaked into that wood 🙁

If they're burning anything other than good clean hardwood, wait for the chimney fire when all that tar catches light....
