got sky after xmas for the package they were offering. opted for the action/drama movies package then thought i'd be smart and record loads of films on the + box, swap package, record loads more then stop the deal....

ahhh, went to watch some film last night and the bloody thing wont let me watch any of the action films I recorded due to me changing the package......

not wanting to illicit any illegal information here but is there a way of getting around this!!! surely there must be????

No. When you record the program, you are recording the raw (encrypted) data.

When you replay it, your card is checked, and you get to watch whatever you have paid for.

You have 2 receivers in there, and one decoder. It's only when the data gets to the decoder that the card is checked (OK, you can't actually record a program that you are not signed up to either)

AFAIK the current sky encryption hasn't been cracked.
