Running OSM maps on my 800. How do I get it to show north on the screen?
Also I would assume that I can't somehow get a British grid ref from it. Or can I?
Oh yeah, showing north up isn't what I mean. I want a little arrow like my other garmins show
Mine shows a little north arrow on the map screen. Not that this particularly helps, mind.
I don't own a cycle-specific GPS, but on some of the others you need to set the map orientation to show "Track Up". If it's set to "North Up" it doesn't bother with the arrow...setup/map/orientation on the Etrex 30
Yes you can set the 800 to display north permanently. I haven't got it near atm but I think you find the option in the settings and either gps or display.
Just curious as to why you want to see North ? GPS can show course/heading so you know which direction you are heading in, if you want to go North head to 0
