Weird sleeping positions not just reserved for spaniels.

Not so much weird, but Esme tends to sleep in her back... 🙂

whole lot of spaniels upside down on sofas. Labs seem to be into the inverted sleeping thing, constantly under my feet when im WFH.

Palmer aint allowed on sofa tho. he's already too big (currently 7 months), and i reckon once up, that would be me and the mrs sat on the floor for the foreseeable.

Barney now at 10 months old - apols for cruddy phonecam pix

He's alright, calmed down massively thank f. Fast as a fast thing, has become totally ball obsessed and seems to bring the best out of other dogs, has hugely impacted on my riding as I'm always walking the blooming dog.

In a few months time he'll be old enough to do some gentle rides with you. Depends on where you live, but I bought an old singlespeed and have discovered a whole network of local paths and trails (Scotland - so all ok). An early morning ride with the dog is the best (fact) way to start the day and an hour singlespeeding on undulating single track does a whole lot of good... we alternate who rides with the dog, the other riding their work commute.

The lives of our dogs, young rascals once, old men now. Had great mountain biking years with them they would go for miles twice a day - have seriously curtailed my riding as they now need someone to walk into the field and stand for 40-60 mins whilst they able around. They get excited when I get a bike out but....

Fit years

[IMG] [/IMG]
Typical sleeping positions for each one, always been the same

[IMG] [/IMG]
Fav pastime now shrew hunting! In the past it was fox badger and deer! (never catch anything - just hunt)

[IMG] [/IMG]
Couple of old men now, growing old gracefully and on drugs

Love the Captain a Giant Purbeck Hound and the very Germanic Leo above!

Some cracking dogs on here, dog threads rock!

I love how some of the dogs on here really seem to like having their photo's taken (I suspect that there may have been treats involved to get some of the piccy's). I have the chance to look after a big friendly choccy lab for a weekend in a few weeks time but as he might need re-homing I think I should resist, cos he could end up staying for more than the weekend!! 🙂

To get this photo took hours. 4 month old Westie. 3 year old cat on her sofa. You can see the displeasure in the cats eyes and the utter obliviousness to the potential fall out in the face of the dog.

I think you'll find there's a couple 'relieving' themselves in the photo - all in all there were about 40 Spinone in total that day.

Leonard agrees - Spinone's rock! 🙂

Goon - Tara seems to be Bedlington Terrier x Greyhound, but we're not 100% sure. She does look like a small deerhound with the rough coat, but that's her fully grown now. She is about 4 years old. She's lying at the foot of the bed now after her chasing deer and a bath

MrGrim - Looking again I can see she is not as big as a deerhound x would be, the beach picture makes her look huge!

I love the balloon pic too. He has a thing for chasing flying things. Not long ago a light aircraft flew low over us, and he burst out of the woods at full speed and chased it half way across the field, barking all the way. Bloody furious he was!

Cheers!

Didn't think Stanley was a swimmer at all until a while back when we were walking him down by the local reservoir. He was off the lead down by the water. Stopped, did a comedy little circle, backed himself up, took a 25yd run-up and launched himself all four paws straight into the water. Paddled out to say hello to some ducks. Swam around for about 5 minutes whilst we all stood there slightly amazed, before getting out, calmly shaking himself off and continuing his walk along the water line.

Never shown any inclination to swim before or since.

Doing his favourite thing, frisbee chase/catch (this was at 24/12 a few years ago):

Getting a bit old now, going grey around the chops in exactly the same way as me, spooky owner/pet thing 😯

Here's 'the other' Meg.
[img] [/img]

She was found running loose, abandoned in a field as a very young pup. She's a natural farm dog, patrolling the land around my dad's house and keeping all the animals in order.

She has never been trained for it, but if my dad should forget to let the ducks or chickens out she'll remind him. If it's wet and the donkeys want to come in, she'll tell him. Every evening she trots off at dusk to herd the running ducks in to their shelter, and lies in front of the door until dad comes out to shut them in.

Above all she's been the perfect companion for my dad since my mum died suddenly last year.

Dogs are just ace.
