Human shield for the PM gone, who is going to defend her now?

Another reshuffle due then, another crisis and the PM has less friends than before.

I suspect they may have had the proof she lied for a while.

Give 'em enough rope, innit?

Incompetence I could have believed, but the sheer arrogance of the woman, jesus.

What is JC subbing it out to STW?

The bit where May also knew is the knife that needs driving in though, partners in crime there

I can't get my head round the way they know they're lying but try to cover up and hope the evidence doesn't come to light - as if..... or alternatively fudge the arguments with pedantics, semantics and wordplay.

eg: Brandon Lewis on Marr this morning claiming he didn't discuss 'targets' with Rudd or May but 'ambitions'

This incidentally is the refuge of many of the leavers on the Brexit thread; the usual Trump defenders; unless the words match exactly then it doesn't count. B0ll0cks

Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck.

I can, personally, believe the incompetence. But she was right to resign over Windrush. She Was madea aware of their plight, but did nothing whilst others lost their Jobs, healthcare and liberty.

Brandon Lewis on Marr this morning claiming he didn’t discuss ‘targets’ with Rudd or May but ‘ambitions’.....

Same as the denial over targets for benefit sanctions, they weren't targets they were expectations.

It's an insult to people's intelligence.

Glad Rudd has gone, now May needs to go, its clear she knew about the targets yet did nothing whilst Rudd lied through her front teeth.

I expect a flurry of Corbyn hates Jewish people stories to hit the papers b4 next week’s local elections

Well R4Today have been on constant "Corbyn responsible for Holocaust" duty for weeks now, so hard to see how they will get lower!

Looking at the predicted results it doesn't seem to be mattering.  Maybe people are not actually believing the media - just as they didn't believe he was a terrorist, don't believe he is a russian spy etc,.

Never mind the policy, the lies and the cover ups - if it hadn't come to light that would have been OK and the anger's being directed at those that exposed the lies. Nothing changes.....

I wonder which big-hitting political heavyweight will be our next home secretary then? Who will she choose from the wealth of ruthlessly effective intellectual operators on her benches.

Whoever it is, they'er going to have to be pretty damn smart! What, with Dianne Abbot holding you to account?

Edit: She's gone for the "For Christs sake, can you find me anyone who isn't a 55 year old white bloke who went to Eton? What.... surely we must have at least one of them?!!!" option

It’ll be someone they can show as progress towards ethnic diversity.. Which will boil the blood of the Conservative Voter..

Give the Party another 50 years to accept thier retarded views on immigrants..

50 years out of government 😇

Javid was May's only choice.

Be upsetting a lot of righties though, hed already received packages as part of the punish a muslin campaign.

Tough job for him to go helping immigrants whith people like that around!

This talk of Rudd making a comeback is foolhardy, her majority was reduced to a handful, she'll be back to her old job of avoiding tax & conducting shares scams after the next ge

Who's Javid, then?  I've never heard of him.

Is this a good thing, or is he another barmpot like Rudd?

He’s Mays attempt at portraying an ethnic diverse Govt, which means sadly he’s nothing more than a placeholder.

He could be very intelligent, but he won’t last long.

Will the whaling daily have a headline tomorrow to reflect the promotion? I very much doubt it based entirely on the colour of his skin.

My FiL has turned into a froth of purple faced rage on the announcement, dick.

Is he the same Sajid Javid that claimed in the aftermath of Grenfell that his department had reviewed and implemented all the recommendations of the coroner's report into Lakanal? Only to then say that wasn't what he'd really said, and we were misinterpreting?

Pressed on why a coroner’s recommendation was not acted upon, Mr Javid claimed “all recommendations were actioned” and that the coroner “did not recommend new regulations”, merely a change to the “guidance.”

The coroner’s report refers to updating The Building Regulations 2010 Approved Document B, which is the “statutory guidance” for builders and developers.

While it is technically called “guidance” in effect, it has effect in law.

Under tough questioning from the BBC’s John Humphrys, Mr Javid admitted previous safety reports had “taken far too long and by the time they have reported it can be too late.”

Oh yeah, he'll fix the Home Office alright.

Aren't they all? All you need to know is he's a Tory and he's been put there by May.

Seems he's a fan of foreigners.

"Sajid Javid almost always voted against a right to remain for EU nationals already in living in the UK"

What a nice send off

Theresa May has said that Amber Rudd "can look back with pride on her time as home secretary."

The prime minister also said that there were targets during her time as home secretary, but they were aimed at people who were in the UK illegally.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-43950655/prime-minister-reacts-to-amber-rudd-resignation

bar is certainly low for being a proud home sec

The prime minister also said that there were targets during her time as home secretary, but they were aimed at people who were in the UK illegally.

So we should be grateful that they didn't have deportation targets for those living here legally.

How do you make Amber Rudd look good ?(or piers morgan)

let Diane Abbot out to do a TV interview.

Avoiding questions as well or better than any tory, plus the addition of her usual condescending manner.

She's doing her best to stop labour getting in at the next election.
