Shogo Kubo died whilst SUPing in Hawaii yesterday, one of the original Z Boys.

A very sad loss. He was always one of my favourite riders. Shogo was all about style, period. Used to love getting the American skateboard mags back in the seventies to check out the latest photos of Shogo and his z-boy mates. Then going to the skatepark and trying to copy their flowing style.
that photo looks like one of my stunts, but turned 90 degrees anti-clockwise 🙁
I saw him live at Guildford skatepark when I was about 16ish.

Rip Shogo
Great surfer/skater, and a great loss.
I'm indirectly indebted to Shogo and the z Boyz / Girlz as they inspired the generation which inspired me as a young skater. Too young but a life well spent.
Never heard of him 'cos I'm an old git, but if you're going to go then that would be up there on my list of exit strategies. Juding by the last pic he lived a decent life - not sure about the bird nicking his peanuts though.
Fair play to him.
