There's lots on the interwebz about them, there was a Grand Designs programme where a bloke in Ireland had one built, using old containers, looked fantastic once finished and landscaped.

They are proper houses, ffs! And they're building them. A couple of containers, used for refrigerated transport, can be had for a few hundred quid, maybe a few thousand, and the end result is a chuffing sight more interesting than an anonymous box like tens of thousand of others.
And a lot cheaper overall.
