Tell her to hang about a bit longer this time rather than just visiting for a week or so then!

My ex wife's birthday, I wonder if that's significant?

Rubbish, it's still barely dropped below 10 degrees here yet. Still waiting for winter to arrive.

For us today was the "longest" day of the year - things go down hill now until turnaround on June 21st! It was 30 odd degrees and light until about 7:30. Jo'burg is far enough north not to have a huge difference in longest and shortest days - about an hour and a half (capetown has a bigger difference).

Def one of the biggest thing I miss is riding up on the south downs until well after 9 in the summer and it still being light!

God I hate Mint Sauce 😡

Big fan of summer, though. Often turn up at the weekend, and cheer it on.

How much am I looking forward to actually getting some sunshine next year!
Who pee'd in your boots, then, Jamie? It's a cartoon, Mint's not real, although Jo's humour shows a level of sophistication way beyond a lot that's supposed to be funny.
Perhaps that's the problem... 😉

There was an interview in the Big Issue with the guy who created Mrs Brown's Boys. He made a good comment about comedy in the last few years has forgotten it's supposed to make people laugh, the worst being programs like The Office which were just trying to be clever but weren't going to make people laugh.

Thing is, Mrs Brown's Boys isn't as funny as The Office...

Possibly. Thing is I am a massive fan of cartoons and animation. Despite many naysayers it is a mature and grown up medium that is capable of [url=

a grown man cry.[/url]

...Mint Sauce, IMHO, is trite simplistic rose tinted bullshit.

Just one man's opinion.

My birthday on the longest day. Took this a day or so before. Lovely dry trails. Heading out after tea for a 4 hour ride & still coming home in daylight. Once Jan is over & the DIY studded snow tyre threads have gone. That's a good time. 🙂

The Office makes me laugh. Mrs Brown's Boys makes me cringe.

Mint Sauce is very, very average as cartoons go.

Given the lead time for keyring production, I feel Mr Burt should probably have ample time to come up with something with less of a 'shoegazer' nature. Its the cartoon equivalent of music by Sleeper or Travis...

So the shortest day is gone. Lets have a celebration. What do you reckon, lets have a right old pig out and a few drinks.
Ooh the fun I have when people in my shop moan about the lack of religious Christmas cards. I have to point out the real meaning of Christmas.

I agree with him, so why didn't he do anything about it?

Oooooof!

Good luck with that one! I'm pretty sure you'll anger the Mint Sauce gods with that kind of talk... 😉

It was only ever a page in the MBUK calendar. They did one or two large posters of Mint, usually with something else on the other side, one had Mint chasing after a dropped ball bearing across all sorts of countryside, until ending up in a desert where it rolls underneath a fridge! Still makes me smile when I think about it.
The only problem I have with the scans that the one the OP posted comes from is that a sheet of black paper should have been put on top when scanning, because you can see show-through from the other side, the black boxes for each day of the next month. Just one of those things you pick up from having to scan magazine pages for repro. It irritates me, but most wouldn't notice it.

Holy thread revival.. just glad this day has come round this year.
It signals the end of a 7 week slog of hardwork and no play time, 4-5hrs sleep a night, 3 young children, my normal job, and packing assistant @ night for mrs cloudnine. Ive had a half built CX bike sat in the shed taunting me too. Torture i tells ya. Phew.
