Just had an email through that my fellow building owners have decided to fix the roof of my property, which obviously I will have to pay my share.

Given that I'm assuming the costs will be thousands of pounds, what is a reasonable timeframe to agree the works. There is no massive urgency on this, its not a emergency repair however I suspect many of the owners ( who are landlords rather than residents) will want to do this immediately.

Given I don't have thousands of pounds put away for such an eventuality would it be reasonable to say I'd be in a position to make payment within 6 months or so?

sounds reasonable to me.  explain the situation politely and listen to any response too.

I woldn't assume that, getting folk to pay for (minor) communal repairs was a nightmare for me!

Anyways I expect many wil be in the same boat.
