This is the insides of our chicken run door opener gearbox. The largest output cog has a stripped tooth. I need to calculate the reduction ratio so I can buy a replacement gearbox. Sure the maths is simple but a calculator I can input tooth count into would be easier. Any suggestions.

So I make

  1. 24t in 10t out 2.4-1?
  2. 30t in 10t out 3-1
  3. 30t in 10t out 3-1
  4. 48t in shaft out 48-1?

So 2.4x3x3x48 approx 1036-1

This https://evolventdesign.com/pages/gear-ratio-calculator calculator suggests a ratio of 0.0231 using the tooth numbers above which is a very different resuy!

Scratch that 45t last gear at a recount so ratio calculated as 0.0247 (approx 40-1) or 972-1 by multiplication, which is correct?

Physically it looks like this unit and the numbers in the case match https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276440665422. That is available in both 40-1 and 1000-1

Ah have solved it, had an extra ratio when multiplying, it's 3:1,3:1,4.5:1 which is 40.5:1 overall which equals 0.2469. so 40:1 it is. Thank you internet sounding board 😂
