4th Xmas at same company part time delivery driver for a Butchers , every year the same not a sausage 🙁 . I should be used to it really but grinds my gears there's no recognition for the work you put in . Just moaned at to get out quicker get back quicker although compared to others I'm more than pulling my weight . Just have a good Xmas would be nice but all they do is try and channel their stress through the staff . Guess it's the way of the world but compared to how my wife's company treats them , bonus, presents and a meal , son in law £500 bonus and he's only been with his company just over a year . Guess there are worse out there ? Been looking at alternatives but at 60 options aren't that easy to come by . The hours suit so maybe I should grin and bare it 🙁

Part time and full time work, never had anything extra at Christmas, not somethings I've ever expected really

Pay ? Oh yeah £6.70 an hour 🙁
Can accept the lack of reward but thanks now and then costs nothing surely ? Would go some way to making you feel appreciated , well it would me .

Just don't grin and bear it for too long. Places like that you owe no loyalty to.

Hopefully the people you deliver to are happier than your employers. I have the same issue, if it wasn't for the friendly faces I see when delivering prescription drugs I'd be off. Of course they may not actually be happy to see me specifically!

Wouldn't kill em to give you a free Turkey would it. Cost to buy to the owner would be diddly in the big scheme and the staff morale would be so much better.
Short sighted and petty IMO.
Im buying my team a box load of Krispy Kremes , and Ive only been there 2 months

With you Plop Pants on the whole customers are fine , in fact today an elderly one in a tumble down house put my boss to shame . £3 to get a drink for Xmas , humbling . I used to find the same when I was a postman .

Singletrackmind apparently they used to years ago and the customers got a business calendar then all of a sudden it just stopped . IMHO it would pay dividends through the year make staff feel appreciated and all .

See the sports direct thread and think yourself bloody lucky apparently. But I agree it's nice to be nice sometimes and show appreciation of others. My subby labourer finished today but will be paid for tomorrow and Friday.

Have you ever wished them a good Christmas? Perhaps they think you are miserable git? Christmas is probably a good time to be a butcher, but it's also a very busy time, and much of the year is probably not good money. Out of interest where do you buy your turkey (or similar)?

poly I tend to treat people according to how they treat me , I get our meat from them through the year , there is a bit of a discount to be fair , I end up paying Supermarket prices for far superior quality . But to counter that when I 1st started I was able to get Nectar points when I fuelled the van up , about 18 months ago they had business Nectar Cards made . I think this is so petty but if they are that desperate for them then they can keep them . Regularly look for an alternative but the hours suit and I'm no spring chicken anymore 🙁 I suppose nothing's perfect ?

You're bacon my heart, etc etc. 🙂

Current job is the first I've ever had where they go overboard to make you feel valued, no bonus but they put a huge amount into the christmas party.

Chin up, OP. You've obviously married well and brought your son up to be smart and useful so that employers value him. 🙂
