Can I ask that teachers get on with educating children as opposed to petty elf and safety enforcement.
FAIL
Can I ask that journalists get on with reporting REAL news as opposed to...
Principal Tony Alexander said the school supported the Help for Heroes campaign and would be holding a charity event later this term. “Wristbands are not allowed for the simple reason they contravene our uniform policy.”

Seems quite reasonable to me.
The only Health & Safety risk is that a wristband might cut off the blood supply to her chubby little hand 😀
You couldn't make it up
You could and someone did
They should sort out the violence problem in that school, the fat kid is being punched in the chin by someone with a wristband on.

This is not the greatest help for heroes wristband in the world... THIS IS JUST A TRIBUTE!
Sarah-Jane Chalk, 15, wore the band to show her support for the work of British troops overseas
No, she wore it to look cool. Next.
“I phoned the school asking for their views and was told wristbands were a health and safety risk because they are classed as bracelets.
surely by that token, a watch would be banned? 😯

all staff at my wife's school have been banned from wearing watches.

please tell me your joking!
Yeah, why would a teacher need to know the time... wait...
I can see a logic to banning bracelets and jewellery on the kids - it's a target for bullies and thieves, and generates extra work for the teachers.
If you're going to have a uniform, you can't start making exceptions. "No jewellery" - "well, this is for charity" - "oh, ok" - "miss, if she can wear a bracelet, why can't I?"
