Next weekend was supposed to be myself and a couple of mates tackling a decent 18 mile hike in the Peaks.... somehow this has turned into tow of us having to take our daughters also as a DofE training hike with us, bang goes the piss up..

Anyone any suggestions for hikes in the Peaks of around 6 - 10 miles a day, with a few places to eat along the way as being teenagers they need feeding every 10 minutes?

Plus something scenic with some points of interest to keep them going?

Chee Dale is good - valley walk with stepping stones, can fit into general Monsal Trail stuff out of Buxton. Busy spot though.

Lud's church is also a good woodland walk - commune with the ancient resonances. Can combine with the Roaches for views depending on how far you wanted to go.

There is meant to be a wild wallaby population in that area. Never seen one myself though!

If it’s DofE, they shouldn’t need feeding just some training in how to look a little bit less disagreeable and p###ed off. They don’t have to do it, or are they forced to?

If they're training for DofE shouldn't they be carrying their own food?

How many days do you plan on walking and are you based in one spot?
