After nearly 12 weeks I have just been told I have a fractured scaphoid whicy needs a pinned. I have been told I will be in a cast after is it a short or full cast just below the elbow. What
Was recovery like? Just wanting to get an idea of what to expect.

I fractured my scaphoid after a tumble in the Alps in Aug '13. I was in cast for 10 weeks as its notoriously bad for healing quickly due to limited blood supply. I suppose if your having it pinned I'd at least expect 6 weeks minimum to 12 weeks maximum.

I was in a short arm cast for 12 weeks with mine. Didn't have an op though.

It will be a below elbow cast.
