Got a silly high renewal quote from M&S for building and content insurance.

Went online and got a new quote for the same cover.

Came out £150 cheaper then renewal quote.

Called them up and they honoured the new price.

A bit of hassle, but worth it for the saving.

My renewal came in at the same price as a new quote.

probably a quidco/topcashback saving too
(if you're not already signed up to one or both, you should - and get someone who's in to refer you as I think you both benefit from that (they will, certainly))

this year for the first time, my renewal quote was considerably cheaper than a new quote online. I did make a claim last year though so that may have affected it.

Anyone got any experience of Barclays' mortgages? You can include bikes up to £2.5k and the price for me came to less than 2/3 that of M&S.

I've just had to claim on M&S after a nasty(ish) smash. So far, its always been cheaper to get a new online quote, but, come my renewal in January, I suspect this might change. 🙁

Always renew every year. Spoke to one of the M&S staff and they said there is no loyalty for returning customers and cheaper to be a new one every year. Bit of a fag, but be daft not too..............

My M&S renewal quote is a whopping £15 more than the current policy. Still, I might try a new quote just to see....
