I have a whole bunch of sandwiches to make for an event on Saturday and could do with inspiration - must be easy to do with cheapish ingredients. Nothing fancy, usual mix of meat and veggie.

Cheese, Ham and Cheese & Ham.

Use ready grated cheese too, goes further and makes nice fat sandwiches that look really full of filling.

Could add a bit of green stuff if you're feeling really fancy

Fish fingers....ok,off topic but they will be in a sandwich and they will be in my tummy.Mayo one side, tom sauce the other.Good point about the grated cheese, and use finger rolls and half them, nobody wants to look greedy and take lots of them at once.

All the ones above look like winners.

If event includes kids, do a few with no frills - ham or cheese or tuna, no salad or garnish.

BLT. Grill the bacon the evening before and keep it in the fridge. Then its just lettuce, sliced tomatoes and mayo on the day. Cheap and simples

I shared a flat with a Dutch guy, and I can highly recommend his favourite sandwich:

Peanut butter, chilli paste (sambal), edam cheese. If you need a boost, add a sliced banana on top.

Tip top!

Fishfingers with salad cream are my favourite sandwich at home.
At work it's coronation chicken - steam some chicken , mix some curry powder with mayo, throw in some sultanas, add tomatoes and cucumbers. Put beyween some homemade bread. Yum
