Echos of "is 6" travel enough for the Alps" here...
I'm doing some short runs to keep fit, maybe 3 miles mainly on grass, and running in Merrells. Any good reason to spend £80 on some purpose made running shoes and fitting service? After all, I used to run around football and rugby pitches in studded boots, so I may have answered my own question....?
What I have noticed is that they feel a bit "dead" and not springy at all. I did a few miles in my 5:10s which felt more comfortable in some ways. But they're heavy and I dont want them trashed for riding.
No not really. But if you start to do more miles on say road or track, then it's worth thinking about equipment.
Important thing is that you're comfortable, and you can run pain free. Anything else is just comment
No you do not need special shoes. Unless you are a certain Mr Gump.
