As fine a player as AWJ is, I think he'd struggle to push into the England squad given our strength there..

Maybe but if, god forgive me, he was English it would be the youngsters trying to push him out.

Hartley is a liability, I doubt Gatland and Edwards would pick him, they are very hot on discipline. In fact Gatland didnt for the Lions. Did for the previous tour didnt but then Hartley got banned.

When I was coming through playing alongside Gav or watching him train you'd just think he was the best at everything," said Biggar.

"I've never actually played against Gav, so if selected and if Gav's playing it will be really good to test your wits against a world class player."

Biggar shitting it about coming up against the man god

There's very few players as naturally gifted as him out there so he's going to be a massive threat. He sort of just glides around the field and puts his team in the right area," he said.

I'm probably the opposite in terms of always looking rushed on the ball and flapping around and everything

😆

Hartley isn't and never has been a liability at international level....I'll not be defending his club record mind 😯

Edit, a quick Google shows he was banned for biting Ferris in the 6n's that time (I'd got it in my mind he'd been cleared of that)

I'm not a big Owens fan, mind you I'm not a big Hartley fan either. Good job George is better than both.

He'd hobble into the England squad on one leg if at his best though. More of a 6 though these days.

Although he looks more spritely in attack, hes not the brick wall Robshaw is though. He wouldnt get into the English system.

He wouldnt get into the English system.

That right the two time Lions captain isnt fit to lace Robshaws boots 😆 😆 😆
Have you even seen him play, defence is certainly his best attribute. I dont mind Wrecker talking him down, at least his posts make sense!!

Everyone knows that my biggest man crush is Robshaw.....but even I concede that his main similarity to a brick wall is the speed at which they both move!

To have this debate sensibly, I didnt deny that Warbs was faster, just that I believe Robshaw is a better defender and harder worker in that respect. He is indeed the proverbial brick wall and thats why he is where he is for England. What theyve alway needed is a proper 7 the other side.

The English system is different to the Welsh, otherwise - agreed he may not be there, especially if we dont have the go forward of Vunipola or Hughes.

Yeah but at least yours are based on having actually watched him. I have never seen much "spritely attack" from Warburton. I think Kryton is confused between Warburton and Tipuric.

Same shit, different year. Grow up sweet heart.

You keep posting rubbish I'll keep calling you out on it. If you dont like it try either watching a player or stop posting rubbish.

love watching an in form Simpson. Has he recovered to the form he had pre-injury?

No. He's been utter shite this season; slow service, poor box kicking and no thought about what's he's doing. He was bloody terrible when they lost to Quinn's a few weeks ago.

Warburton would make the English team. Rob Shaw has been good under Jones. Wouldn't swap any of our locks for AWJ I'm afraid.

As has been said, Hartley in an England shirt isn't bad, in fact he's very good from a discipline point of view. Club level is a different matter. The main issue is he's not actually the best hooker in the AP.

You keep posting rubbish I'll keep calling you out on it. If you dont like it try either watching a player or stop posting rubbish.

You know, i posted a lot more last night then redacted it, but now im not going to hold back. Year on year you choose to follow me through the rugby threads with insults and belittling comments. I called you out on it last year and you came within an inch of a ban, yet here you are again. Same comments towards the same person. Thats internet bullying btw.

Despite what you and your ego believe you arent gods gift to rugby. You seem to go about the place believe everyone elses opinion is second class to your own arrogant view of the world, and only you can be “right”. You can have a half reasoned argumemt at times AA, then your only defense is to defer to insults which in fact belies your true level of intelligence.

I challenge you to come up with an intelligent response to this post without and insult - direct or veiled - thrown in. I know Ill win because your not intelligent enough to do so.

So thats twice youve insulted me and me alone on one page. Ill consider what you post next with a view to writing a long complaint to stw regarding your three years of consitent mal behaviour toward me personally, in these threads.

Heres your chance AA, back down, apologise for the insults and we’ll all continue to debate our opinions, or risk a hand slapping. I’m happy to give you a final chance and move on, are you able to let me express my opinions and do the same?

I think that robshaw is a better 6 than warbs and as A_a said, warbs isn't really a 7 nowadays. A few years ago he'd have waltzed into the team at 7 but with eddies focus on bringing youth through (correctly imho) I would far rather see them playing. England shouldn't be afraid to lose a couple of games in order to improve the team. They have played it too safe (with the notable exception of mr burgess) and its high time that they got the young talent going early.
With regards to Armand, the chiefs have had it tough for a while. Ewers deserved a cap a couple of seasons ago as did Phillips before he got hurt (and fat). Hill, short, wood burn all playing well. Nice to see Simmons included though.

Kryton, when you stop posting rubbish I'll stop calling you out on it, its simple. If you think thats bullying you need to grow up a bit. Where have I insulted you other than saying you post rubbish about rugby players, to the extent I dont think you've actually seen some of them play or you think you have but you were watching someone else.
Feel free to report my bullying the mods can judge for themselves if its real. Looking back at the last exchange I feel confident that I'm not the one throwing insults. I simply laughed at your opinion.

Heres your chance AA, back down, apologise for the insults

Which insults?

Meanwhile

I know Ill win because your not intelligent enough to do so

Mods. Feel free to ban me now for your own sake!!

Ill consider what you post next with a view to writing a long complaint to stw regarding your three years of consitent mal behaviour toward me personally, in these threads.

I'd rather talk rugby than engage in a slanging match AA. If you can't see that the way you respond to some individuals is different to others as you've pointed out to TJ, that you advocate a continuation of that behaviour as you've communicated to me above, and that it's repetitive as we can all see year on year, then you quite obviously have some kind of personality issue aside from the norm that perhaps you should work on to improve your people engagement skills.

As for targeting individuals, why didn't you target Wrecker with the same response as I recieved when he agrees with me re Robshaw? That proves its personal.

And if you can't do that just accept others have a different opinions to you and that you aren't always right before you hammer away at the keyboard, and perhaps we can all enjoy a continuation of the thread.

Maybe try it then, after all your rugby comments are prefty funny.

Wrecker and I argue all the time, I'm not sure he thinks I bully him

So I lack intelligence and have a personality disorder but I am the one throwing insults? Keep it up fella you're doing great!!

a_a has a rather entrenched view of rugby and in particular welsh and english rugby, and you need to know your shit if you're going to disagree with him. In the most diplomatic way possible, he can be a bit venomous but that is just my opinion. Fully open-legged gay for gav though so at least he has good taste.

Are we back to talking about rugby now? 😆

Sat through Sale Exeter last night which was a pretty dour match (just like the Sale Newcastle match...starting to see a pattern here). Slade threw a few lovely passes though.

Yarde has apparently thrown his toys out of the pram and left Quinns mid season to join Sale. Sounds like he's fallen out with Kingston and co and didn't like being dropped last week after missing training.

AA

For example I dont treat him any different to you when you tell me Watson is the best 7 in the british isles!!!

Classic example - I never said that. I said he was the best performing 7 in the 6n prior to the lions and should have gone on the tour. Both of which are true.

You attack in a pretty nasty way anyone who says anything that could be deemed detrimental to anyone welsh and you constant attacks are tedious in the extreme and make this thread less entertaining than it might be

. I said he was the best performing 7 in the 6n prior to the lions and should have gone on the tour

Huge difference, so sorry.

Both of which are true.

In your opinion, but not the Lions selectors. So I'm hardly an outlier not agreeing with you.

You attack in a pretty nasty way

Could you point out this nasty things I've done?
I found you wittering on relentlessly about Gatland being anti scottish and how he should have pick a load of scots for the lions tedious in the extreme too.
I have no problem with people being critical of welsh players what I do have a problem is when people do it without even seeingly having watched them play and try to make weaknesses strengths or strengths weaknesses or just tritely spouting crap in cliches.

Still waiting for Kryton to get back to me about these insults I directed at him.

Strange how people see things differently.
I was at the Sale-Exeter game last night & the place was thumping.
Two very good defensive efforts from both teams. No shame in a narrow loss to the reigning Champions especially considering where Sale were last year.

Anyway

Back to the rugby. Glasgow beat southern kings easily last night - with youngsters making a good showing. Adam Hastings ( recognise that name?) started at 10 and played OK. He will be the next scotland 10 I am sure, George Horne at 9 as well and Matt Fagerson in the back row. Bodes well for the future.

Our choirboy prop Zander who is still only 21 had a storming game. Scored a try, couple of turnovers but he does like to get into discussions with his opponents a bit too much.

England and Wales to train together!!

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/oct/28/england-wales-training-session-autumn-internationals-rugby-union

Wonder how many more injuries we'll pick up. Not sure what Wales will learn from being hammered in set piece by England or what England will learn from the weaker Welsh forwards...if I was Rob Evans I'd say my head still hurt!!!

Glasgow seconds V Leinster seconds tonight ( international callups) in the pro 14

Glasgow being captained by a strange antipodean half man half mullet. Lots of new faces to see and Glasgow will be out to prove a point. shuld be a good game if a bit rapier V bludgeon and mad McMata gets a start for Glasgow so anything could happen

As a sale fan who was used to good guys like Hodgson, His Lordship Jason Robinson and the engaging if apathetic at times Chabal I find our latest signing a bit disappointing and yet another reason not to put hard earned cash into funding Steve Diamonds Mere gold club membership or Marlons nights out with Timnie Tempah. Not rugby values

Edinburgh beat ospreys with a bonus point. How can a team be so inconsistent? They beat the stronger sides and lose to the weaker ones

Ospreys have only won two games this season, against rubbish opposition. They have no big heavyweight ball-carriers, a terrible attacking plan and a defence which relies on better fitness than they have. Also their captains with few exceptions are thick as lumpy custard.

They made Edinburgh look good, with the ref's help. (Giving a yellow card for too many penalties conceded was deserving of a punch in the moosh - Ospreys had conceded four in 30odd minutes, Edinburgh five. That's such a pathetic decision that it's hard not to whinge.) Despite that, Ospreys were terrible - that decision didn't decide the game but was a massive factor.

The Ospreys are heading down the pan rapidly, Scarlets and Blues are heading that way slower due to much better coaches.

So the Nov internationals are almost here whats everyones hopes. Wales as usual have gone for the easy option of Aus, NZ and SA with Georgia in between. I'm hopeful we will win one of the games.
France have gone even more bonkers than Wales by playing NZ twice and SA in a week!!
Ireland v SA looks like the best game of the first weekend.

We could also take bets on whi h poster will show up on the thread for the international window, blather on about Johnno and Wilko and predict a world cup win for england after they have put 50 points on Samoa.

Scotland - Samoa then NZ then Aus

I hope not too many get broken against Samoa but we should win. NZ will be far too much but I hope to score some tries against them an be within a score or two, Aus well we are approaching being their nemesis and I hope to beat them again. There is nothing finer in world sport than beating an aussie team

Not too bad bar front row which looks a bit thin. Dunbar back this week, Hogg back, Ickle jonny back. Not sure big Ritchie will be IIRC he is still out. Barclay hopefully fit as well - did he play this weekend?

We appear to have left private Frazer at home for now ( we're doomed) but I am sure he will resurface at some point. This season scotland really need to kick on. Last season was the first time we had beaten teams ranked above us for a while. No excuses. Everything is in place and the production line of youngsters keeps on producing.

We could do with a big ball carrier in the backrow and a clone of Russell but Horne looks to be an adequate replacement. Anyone want a scrum half? we have about 6 of international standard

Daly is back training with England which is good to hear. Our number eight selection is going to be interesting; I just want to see a back row that functions as a unit.

Australia will be interesting this year; having just beaten the All Blacks I imagine their confidence is pretty high at the mo.

Why does scotland produce so many good scrum halves and so few decent 10s?

At the moment we have Price, Pyrgos, Fowles, Hidalgo-clyne, Kennedy, George Horne has just appeared and of course Laidlaw non of whom look out of place in the scotland squad but at 10 we only have Russell who is good and Horne senior who is competent. Its been like this for decades

Wales have loads of good 7's Warburton, Ellis Jenkins, Davies all injured 🙁 but no 6 or 8.
Wales looking a bit ****ed without North, Roberts, Moriarty, Rob Evans e have no carriers
