Oh and I forgot to add, Tomlin's is awful, really really awful
Despite your criticisms of the players, they are able to make the whole more than the sum of the parts. Given that you are currently 2nd in the table I can see a grand slam on the horizon. France are only ahead on points because they have played Italy.
If England carry on with their performance next sat will be a decent score for you, then a romp against the Italians and massive fight for the title on the last weekend.
Plus we will have softened the frogs up for you.
Imagine the kerfufflle if Wales were to win the Tournament because France had to miss a couple of games due to Covid!
Obviously we all want to win, but it really is great for NH rugby that every game can go either way at the moment - maybe not Italy, but they are getting there.
Italy pretty close, it shows how tiny margins make big differences to score lines.
I agree, really the 6N is wide open, all teams are facing sides they could easily lose against.
Wales England will be fun, Wales have obviously been lucky so far, but have shown improvement, England haven't been great. At their best you would expect England to be better but currently it's a tough call.
A concern of mine would be in denying that it was a red card offence he fails to acknowledge the severity of his actions and the risk to others. Which also might suggest he’d do the same again. It also suggests he thinks he knows better than the RFU.
Exactly that. That’s the difference with the O‘Mahoney sanctions. I do worry that there seems to be no “totting up” sanction in that POM has been sanctioned a couple of times for the same thing recently. I think that’s the issue here rather than playing down the Fagerson red and saying “it’s only just a red” or whatever. To mitigate this risk in rugby it needs to be taken seriously and it is ( perhaps excepting the Farrell blind spot). Those comments by some other Scottish player about he should have had a 20 min sin bin then go off to be replaced by another player to make up the 15 is daft. It means you run the risk of ice hockey style hit men on to do a job on someone, pay their penalty and then game goes on sort of as normal(after being down a man for 20 mins). This doesn’t send the right message about head injuries.
I agree with that burko73.
Wales have been ‘lucky’ so far and have clear weaknesses, but commentators still appear to underestimate a lot of what they do have. English commentators I’ve heard so far are totally dismissing Wales’ chances. Wales 40% England 60% imho. #prayforFarrellat10

This bullshit is a perpetual shame to us Englanders.
Someone pointed out to me about 20 years ago that the record eng vs wales since Jurrasic times is bang on 50/50. Its lightly in our favour recently I think 52 48..
You'd think the press would know this.
(Eng12-Wal7 over the last 10 years 2010-20, but at Millennium it has been 4 of 7 Wales wins.)
Imagine the kerfufflle if Wales were to win the Tournament because France had to miss a couple of games due to Covid!
My 17 year old daughter who doesn't watch rugby asked me if there are 'overrun' weekends provisionally booked in case of problems with Covid. It's not ideal but why would they not pencil this in?
(The only reason my teenaged daughters were watching the game seemed to be because of some good looking winger....)

Check Scotlands recent record against England but we were still given no chance.
Well its not quite the same 2010-2020 of 12 games, you won once and drew twice.
England and Scotland have been playing each other at rugby union since 1871 when Scotland beat England in the first ever rugby union international. A total of 139 matches have been played, with England having won 76 times, Scotland 44 times and nineteen matches have been drawn.
For comparison England 65 Wales 59 with 12 drawn.
England 80 Ireland 49 with 8 drawn.
a_a not denying fagerson was foul play. For several reasons but as he was committed (probably to an illegal act) Jones was moved/moved which brought his head up. I got the impression that TMO was trying to suggest this. But it is what it is.
Maybe tmo/ref should be a private channel so they can talk freely. But that's an argument for another day.
Is AWJ fit to play this weekend? As I said he looked dazed at a couple of points.

No games this weekend, which should suit Wales with all their injuries. Hopefully time to sort out the France situation too.
England having won 76 times, Scotland 44 vs England 65 Wales 59 .
So discarding draws then its Eng 63% Scot 37%, and Eng 52% Wales 48% .
But over the last 10 years England wales has been 63 37, much closer than England Scotland which has been 90% to 10%.
last 4 games - 2 wins scotland one draw. Before this years match the last 3 games were 1win, one loss, one draw and we were given no chance this time

press conference and injury update later today form Pivac. looks likely that navidi, johnny williams and JD2 will be be back fit. adams will also be back from 2 match ban for being a covidiot. not heard anything on north (but assume he'll be back as i don't think it was serious foot injury) or 1/2p (less likely i'd guess givven previous concussion issues). asssuimng all the above are back, with potential exception of 1/2p, it creates some really interesting choices for the backs. loopy at full back, LRZ nailed on and assume adams on the other wing - what centre combo of JD2, North, JW, Halaholo, tompkin and watkins do you play / on the bench?
interested to see what happens at 9 & 10 as well we played better with hardy & sheedy, but guess bigs will be starting if 1/2p out? what's sheedy's kicking percentage like?
Great as JD2 is I’d be uneasy about him playing in this game.
Oh I thought Hogg was heading back to Exeter, whether he'd play or not was up in the air.

The last 4 games vs Wales before last weekend you only won one, but the odds at the bookies were in your favour. I know because I made a bet on Wales and got 6-1.
EDIT - Current odds
Wales England:
Wales 2/1
England 4/11
Draw 25/1
France Scotland:
France 1/4
Scotland 3/1
Draw 33/1

I'd choose Halaholo and North, Pivac will go Williams and North I think. Davies has not been playing well. Left field option of Davies at 12 and North 13 could work too.
I fully expect Bigger, Sheedy, Zammit, Francis and Talupe to get injured playing for their English clubs this weekend
My understanding of the hearings is that to get there you have either been sent off or someone has deemed an act worthy of a red card, so it's very rare you don't get a ban. It's not a case of innocent until proven guilty so arguing is always pretty futile unless you really don't think you did it. Fagerson connected with the head with limited mitigation from what I saw. If he had accepted the charge and taken 3 weeks would he be available for the last round or was this just a last throw of the dice? Maybe someone with a bit more understanding of what the 3 weeks means will be able to offer some input?

It does seem to be a fairly ceremonial process. The player comes in with biscuits and he kneels and presents them to the judges. With his head lowered he humbly accepts his guilt and begs the court for mercy. Often he will be accompanied by people of worth to plead on behalf of his good 'character'.
“Testimonials provided by Mark McCall, Eddie Jones and the founders of a charity with which the player works very closely were of the highest quality,” Hamlin confirmed. “The panel concluded that applying the off-field mitigating factors, notwithstanding his suspension four and a half years ago, the player was entitled to a reduction from 10 to five meaningful matches under RFU regulation 19.11.11.”
Only after he has said the sacred words and others have vouched for his character will he have his suspension reduced by half, as is custom.
Thus has it always been and always shall be.
And there in lies one issue. The board has decided guilt(through red card or citing) in the matter. It is a decision about foul play in a match. So why does granny turning up to say he's ever such a nice boy effect anything?
I can still see why fagerson feels as he does. Price starts to move Jones as he drops to drive(possible mitigation) although if he hadn't started to move I think the contact may still have been sanctionable.

Had he wrapped his arms, rather than go in with the shoulder it could have been a legal act gone bad by hitting his head. As it was he used just the shoulder, which made it an illegal act got worse by head contact. This is my interpretation, no idea how the laws work
Just watched it again. Jones head moves up a bit. If he hadn't it would have been contact to the back of his neck or top of his head. Fagerson come from distance and was committed to hitting any part of Jones he could.
And I've done a bit of reading (I know, get me!) And his ban was on mid range offence (6weeks/games) and is reduced to 4 weeks/games. If he said sorry he would still be banned for 3 games and be out the tournament, so nothing to lose by saying "I didn't do it"
Aye, I really don't understand the no wrap in that situation apart from reducing impact of his arrival.
But then it might have been a crocodile roll situation and a knee popper.
Ruck really needs sorting to remove this.
Get the players up,w hands off the deck supporting their own weight. Arriving and not able to hold your weight becomes a penalty. The step away is already noted. It should be more sumo than WWE at the ruck.

From a coaching point of view you'd have to ask what he was trying to achieve - just like the PoM hit. He's hitting a player who is out of the game and taking himself away from being able to do anything remotely useful, even without the risk of a card.
Jones is slowing/jackeling the ball. The fact (edit) Hogg is a contact player indicates wanting quicker ball.
you’d have to ask what he was trying to achieve
He was trying to hurt Jones after Jones hit Watson as the whistle went
I said exactly this and your boyfriend duckman got very upset.
Not as upset as you were when we beat you though.Several gracious posts from you about how it was England were crap rather than Scotland outplayed you " they just had to turn up." A summary of the game that that even the England coach disagrees about. Also rather at odds with
This bullshit is a perpetual shame to us Englanders
An attitude to showed yourself.
That's why we were telling you to getitrughtupyou...it isn't a term of endearment. You have no clue about the game, you were asking folk on here to explain the breakdown laws so you will excuse me if I tend to laugh at the rubbish you spout.( see also a sending off has no impact)
But what has got me to reply to you is ; what is with the constant homophobic attempts to slander me? Last week you suggested I fancied you."but you had a squeeze." (your term of endearment) this week I am AA's boyfriend. You really are a pathetic piece of shite if you think suggesting people are gay is an insult. I'm not, by the way...insulted or AA's other half, but crack on with the gay jokes,it says more about you.
Ahh ducky thanks for the attention. I feel so much better now.
Ahh ducky thanks for the attention. I feel so much better now.
You going to ask the mods to ban him?
For someone who is a rugby fan because he gets on so well with all the other rugby fans (because rugby fans are so much better than wendyball fans) you certainly seem to have a knack of rubbing us up the wrong way.
if you think suggesting people are gay is an insult. I’m not, by the way
Crushed 😥
We would be like an old married couple, bickering for what; 10-12 years?
Just shows the mess of the ruck. I'm not sure he actually clocks it's Jones given his angle of approach and Hogg being a body between fagerson and Jones.
Duckman what are the rules now re being over the ball in a ruck when I reffed it was no bridging but that seems the norm now. You see caterpillar set ups with front man bridging then three players line astern. With no contact on the front man as the defending team have withdrawn from the ruck as it becomes obvious a kick is the next play.
Do you mean your own ball? Legal, part of the use it calls are to try to speed it up.As for the disengaging waiting for the kick, it isn't technically over until the ball is played out.
knack of rubbing us up the wrong way.
That's yours and duckys choice. I'm glad you have the right to exercise it.
5 plus 8 - why be such a dick on this thread? Its bad enough dealing with AA and his welish delusions! 😉
welish delusions!
If by deluded you mean that he keeps berating his team and talking them down, when they seem to conjour something out of nothing quite a lot of the time then yes fair enough that's a good observation.
The only way you can rub me up the wrong way 5plus is by continuing to make pathetic references to peoples sexuality. It isn't as if you have a clue about rugby.
Yeah thats true, all of your reactions to my other posts have been just a calm reflection of the things stated.. Ha ha.
**** me sideways. Will you two knock it off. I know it’s STW and arguing is The Law, but it’s getting tiresome now.
