According to this piece, DVLA have retained about 300 license plates deemed rude or offensive.

My fnar-foo must be weak today but what's replacing the "67" in the plates to make them rude/offensive? For example: "NO67 MUM"

Maybe if your Mum had just died you'd see it differently?

In 2 years will they ban all the "69" plates?

I think in those it's just the phrase "No mum" not really sure why that's offensive to anyone though not many of the ones listed make much sense to ban really.

Wonder where V14GRA is these days. Before Viagra was famous/released it was on a new Yaris Verso in Doncaster. I'll bet the owner of the Yaris got more for the plate than the Yaris when they changed car.

Maybe they were hard up till they sold it?

V14GRA I'm sure was on a Porsche that used to be around here, but I've just done a check and come up with no results, so maybe it's been removed from the register.

I read that this morning, don't get most of them AF67 HAN, Afghan possibly?

In 2 years will they ban all the "69" plates?

Was discussing with a colleague we concluded that a driveway containing cars with NO69 MUM, NO69 DAD and NO69 SON plates would be amusing ๐Ÿ™‚

I wonder about the person at the DVLA who has the job of thinking of how rude words can be spelled on license plates. That must be a fun job.

So it seems I'm not alone. Even our office's Finbar Saunders doesn't see what they are meant to be.

Couple of unassuming middle aged lesbians came in to work last year to pick up their canoe. When I went to help them load it I couldn't help laughing at the T5 Caravelle they were driving with the plate

I once saw a boy-racer liveried MG-ZR with the plate KN03 HED. That made me smile.

I'm sure, years ago driving through Nottingham as students, we were passed by a long & low sports car of some sort, driven by a young lady of the 'easy on the eye' type, which had the plate 130LOX. Or maybe I just dreamt it.

A friend who owns a butchers has P9 ORK on their delivery van - not very rude though.

My favourite all time plate I've seen is VAN 15H ( I think that's how it was layed out ) on a Sierra Cosworth 8)

Saw a (black) Shogun (relatively recent, as in last few years, model) with registration P24* KKK today queuing for Eurotunnel. Brave that one.

*Cant remember the exact numbers.
